Swindon vs Barnet Betting: Swindon can book a trip to Wembley with second leg win
Chesterfield booked their place at Wembley for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final last week and on Tuesday night we will find out which Southern Area side they will face when Swindon and Barnet do battle in the second leg of their area final at the County Ground in Swindon. The match will be beamed across the nation on Sky Sports and the score coming into the second leg is 1-1 so there is all to play for.
Swindon come into the second leg as the 4/7 favourites with Sportingbet and their manager Paolo di Canio has stoked the fire ahead of this contest claiming his side are better than Barnet but to be fair to the Italian his side are playing some excellent football at the minute. Di Canio has stated all along he has a desire to win a trophy as a manager and this would be the logical opportunity along with the league. Aden Flint gave Swindon the lead in the first leg but Di Canio will expect more from his strikers in this second leg.
Barnet are comfortable enough in mid table that they can concentrate fully on this match and you would have to say with the likes of Izale McLeod in their side they can be dangerous. Barnet have won their last four league games so come into this match in good form under Lawrie Sanchez who knows a thing or two about cup upsets from his Wimbledon days not to mention when he managed Wycombe to an FA Cup semi final.
Swindon have won their last five league matches and enjoyed a decent FA Cup run which only came to an end in the fourth round at Leicester last month. They beat Wigan in that run and I think they will win this match too. Swindon’s home record in League 2 is top notch and I’ve a feeling with the attacking power the Robins possess they could win this a shade cosily too for a semi final and I’ll take them to win and cover a handicap in the process.
