Stepanek vs Fish Betting: Radek Stepanek to build on the impressive H2H record
The second bet comes from the ATP part of the draw, which is developing rather nicely for our pre-tournament pick, Roger Federer, who is now down to 2.95 for the outright win with Pinnacle. He is now going to play against the talented Australian, Bernard Tomic, and I simply cannot see past yet another simple win. However, the match that I am going to take a closer look at in this preview is the one that will see Mardy Fish and Radek Stepanek playing for a place in the next round.
The Czech number two is apparently trying to turn back time and one simply has to be impressed with his recent results. He has already managed to beat Aleksandr Dolgopolov, Juan Martin del Potro, Albert Ramos and Juan Monaco in North America, with the only defeat coming against the in-form Tommy Haas.
Mardy Fish has also been getting himself back into some nice form after missing a large part of the season due to medical issues and, in all fairness, you have to give him some credit these days. Unfortunately for him, he is going to be up against a player that knows how to deal with his playing style. The Czech leads the H2H record 4-0 (8-1 in terms of sets) and that should count for something. It is not that hard to see the reasons for that in my opinion - the Czech has a very tricky style that does not give his opponents any room for elaborate maneuvers and they need to come up with accurate passing shots in order to get past his excellent net play skills. Mardy Fish has never been that great in that department and I can see him having a hard time once again. For me, the American does not deserve to be priced as such a big favourite here.
Back Radek Stepanek to beat Mardy Fish for a 1/10 stake at 2.64 with Pinnacle
