Sharapova vs Williams Betting: Sharapova looks a bit underrated in the final match
The final match of the women's singles draw will see two of the biggest favourites, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams, playing for the overall victory and I am sure that we are going to see a tremendous contest. The American number one has been cruising through the tournament so far, but I nevertheless have to say that the fact that she is priced at 1.22 with Pinnacle looks like a bad joke. She is a big favourite, there is no doubt about that, but Maria Sharapova seems to be playing on the top of her game at the moment and I am sure that she will want to have her say in this match.
It is really easy to evaluate the match-up - it is all about big hitting. Williams has been dominating the match-up for a long time and she indeed has more power in her shots, but she is still rather error-prone under pressure and this is a match in which she could easily come under plenty of pressure. Viktoria Azarenka showed the way in the second half of her second set against Williams and Sharapova will certainly know what to do.
You might still remember the match between Agnieszka Radwanska and Serena Williams. The American was an even bigger favourite back then and we all know what happened. She did win, but it was far from easy. You can take a look at her recent matches and you will realize her dominance. However, it is important to notice that, with the exception of Azarenka, she has not had to play against any top players yet. On the other hand, Sharapova has already had to play against the likes of Sabine Lisicki, Kim Clijsters and Maria Kirilenko, who are all much better than the likes of Wozniacki or Zvonareva at the moment. For that reason, I simply would not want to ignore her chances here, as she can certainly find her rhythm early on and match Williams in all departments.
