Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kings XI Punjab Betting: Plenty of top batsmen on show to give us lots of big hits
Just when you thought Bangalore were finding some consistency in this season’s Indian Premier League they have suffered another wobble so they will be looking to get back to winning ways on Wednesday when they host the Kings XI Punjab side at the Chinnaswamy. Kings XI haven’t been consistent at any stage in the tournament so they will be looking for some consistency themselves. Bangalore are the 4/7 favourites for the match with William Hill.
It was three wins on the bounce for the Royal Challengers but after a washout against Chennai they have suffered a huge loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders which has left their semi final chances a lot more in the balance. Chris Gayle has found form which is a boost because their bowling attack continues to be hit and miss but on a good wicket like this one they need their whole batting line up firing.
The Kings XI could welcome their captain Adam Gilchrist back into their side after he missed their last four matches with hamstring problems. One man who will definitely be able to play is Ryan Harris who has joined up with the squad now having been missing for the start of the tournament while on international duty. Shaun Marsh and David Hussey look solid overseas options so the likes of Azhar Mahmood and David Miller could make way.
Kings XI had a good win over Chennai last time out and you wouldn’t rule them out in this match but I’m never keen on taking on Chris Gayle on this ground of all grounds. Instead with Gayle on show in this match I will take the overs in the sixes market. Gayle isn’t the only big hitter on show. There is Kohli, Dilshan, de Villiers, Tiwary, Gilchrist, Marsh, Hussey and the likes of Valthaty if he gets a game. Neither bowling attack is frightfully good so I think there will be plenty of sixes in this match on the smallest ground in the IPL.
