Robson vs Zahlavova-Strycova Betting: Laura Robson can add yet another victory to her record
My second bet comes from the WTA event in Palermo. Sara Errani is now expected to win the title there, as she has been playing unbelievable tennis in this season so far, but the match against Begu might actually be a bit trickier than the odds suggest, so let's take a closer look at the second semifinal instead.
Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova, who is coming into the match as a 2.24 underdog at Pinnacle, can be a real nightmare for the punters and her campaign in Palermo shows why. On Thursday, she had lots of problems against the young Julia Cohen. And then she managed to upset Julia Goerges on the very next day. So what can we actually make out of this? Well, I can only say one thing - she cannot be trusted these days. Look past her win against Goerges and you are going to see losses against the likes of Burnett, Niculescu or Foretz Gacon.
On the other hand, it seems that Laura Robson has been playing really well in recent weeks - surprisingly, you would indeed struggle to find any unexpected defeats in that record. She certainly deserves a lot of respect for her wins against Roberta Vinci and Carla Suarez-Navarro, who are both fairly strong clay-court specialists. Great things are expected from her - and we might be seeing one of her first breakthroughs.
For that reason, I think that there is some value in backing Robson outright here. She has been the better player of the two for quite some time and, based on their current forms, one would feel that she only needs to hold her game together in order to win here. And she can definitely do that today.
