Ramirez Hidalgo vs Fish Betting: There are no guarantees when it comes to Mardy Fish these days

First of all, let me start by saying that I have not gone completely mad yet. However, I strongly believe that there is no point in telling you who the favourites are in the first round of this Grand Slam. Instead, I would like to look at some of the underdogs, since some of the prices at Bet-at-home are quite ridiculous in my opinion. At first glance, the encounter between Mardy Fish and Ruben Ramirez looks like an incredibly straightforward affair. After all, the Spaniard is a clay court specialist that has never won a match on grass!

However, a closer look at the match-up reveals that the American might actually find himself in a spot of bother here. He has not played a single match since April, but that does not have to be the biggest complication. Apparently, he had some heart problems that had to be solved with a small surgical operation. That may not seem like much, but the American could not even train properly for quite some time and his Wimbledon comeback was not guaranteed by any means.

You know, it is certainly possible that Fish just wants to try some things out here. It is clear that he is not going to get far this year and I think that it would be ridiculous to back him at such short odds in this situation, even though his opponent does not really know how to play on hard courts. It is a very speculative bet and small stakes are definitely in order, but this match does have the potential to ruin quite a few accumulators. Stay away from players that have not played for so long!
