No doubting what the main event is on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival, it is the Queen Mother Champion Chase. This race is quite rightly regarded as the best two mile chase anywhere on the planet and over the years has witnessed some terrific races.
The race itself only attracts a select bunch each year so big fields are rare, yet it never fails to deliver a compelling spectacle and produce a worthy champion.
2011 winner Sizing Europe came back in 2012 for another crack at the Queen Mother Chase but was a beaten odds on favourite to Nicky Henderson's Finians Rainbow, and Henderson was to enjoy success again in 2013 with Sprinter Sacre completing a faultless round of jumping.
