Pakistan vs England ODI Series Betting: Pakistan 5/4 for ODI series after securing 3-0 test series win
Pakistan are 5/4 with Blue Square to beat England in their upcoming four match ODI series after they completed a 3-0 test series whitewash against Andrew Strauss’ men in Dubai on Monday. England went into the fourth day of the final test needing a further 288 runs to win the final test and restore some pride and confidence ahead of the limited overs matches to come.
The day never began well though when just over 5 overs into the day’s play England lost their skipper Andrew Strauss as he was lbw to Adbur Rehman with England’s score on 48. Jonathan Trott fell for 18 before lunch and England went into the break 89/2 and still a long way short of their victory target of 324 runs.
Alastair Cook looked like he was going to take advantage of a couple of drops and along with Kevin Pietersen they took England’s score to 116/3 when Pietersen was bowled by Ajmal. Cook fell for 49 shortly after, also to Ajmal to leave England floundering. Ian Bell and Eoin Morgan tried to launch a counter attack but it didn’t last for very long as both were out in quick succession to Umar Gul to leave England on 159/6.
Stuart Broad joined Matt Prior in England’s last hope and they advanced the score to 196 before Broad fell. Graeme Swann, Prior and the tail wagged for a bit to push England up to 252 before Monty Panesar was the final man out for 8 to leave England beaten in every test match. England are an 11/4 shot to win the four match ODI series with Paddy Power while the draw, which is perfectly possible in a four match series, is a top priced 15/8 with Stan James among those bookies offering the draw price.
