Nottinghamshire vs Hampshire Betting: Nottinghamshire's powerful batting can lead them to another win
Group B of the Clydesdale Bank 40 is really hotting up and there is another crucial match in the group on Tuesday when Nottinghamshire host Hampshire at Trent Bridge. Hampshire’s win over Durham on Sunday sent them to the top of the table but Nottinghamshire have games in hand and will be in a very good position if they win this match. Nottinghamshire are marginal 10/11 favourites with Coral for this match.
Nottinghamshire picked up a win of their own on Sunday when they thrashed Surrey at Guildford. They reduced Surrey to 8/5 just four overs into their innings and there was no way back for the team who were top of this group at the time. Nottinghamshire have a fearsomely powerful batting line up and with Harry Gurney and Darren Pattinson in the form they are in their bowling attack is in good shape too.
Hampshire have only lost one match in this tournament so far this season but it was the reverse fixture against Nottinghamshire. Hampshire will be without Michael Carberry for this match but the rest of their squad remain in tact with Simon Katich hoping to continue the good form he showed in the win over Durham on Sunday. Dimitri Mascarenhas is ultra consistent with the ball and very hard to get away while Danny Briggs and Liam Dawson are bowling well.
This should be a pretty tight match but Hampshire will have to bowl out of their skins to contain this Nottinghamshire batting line up on what is a pretty small ground on one side. At the Rose Bowl they nearly managed it but James Taylor got away, this time they will need to make sure they get right the way through and then they need the whole of their top four to deliver big runs. The likes of McKenzie and Vince just look a bit out of touch at the minute though which leads me to taking Nottinghamshire here.
Back Nottinghamshire to beat Hampshire for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Coral
