Next Spurs Manager Betting: Andre Villas-Boas the new favourite to replace the departed Harry Redknapp at the Lane
Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is the current 6/4 favourite with Stan James for the vacant Spurs job after the departure of Harry Redknapp was confirmed over the last 24hrs. Harry Redknapp left Spurs after they chose not to extend his contract which leaves the side who finished fourth in the Premier League last season looking for a new man to take them forward. Rumours were going round that AVB was in London on Thursday night but those rumours were incorrect.
The early leader in the market was David Moyes but the current Everton boss is on the drift. He is now out to 4/1 with Skybet to make the move to London to take the Spurs job. Moyes only returned from a break in America on Thursday morning so it is unlikely he has been approached yet if indeed Spurs have any interest in the man who many believe could really star in charge of a top four club.
Roberto Martinez has seemingly been top of the wish list for a number of jobs this summer and he is the third favourite to be the next Spurs boss at 6/1 with Skybet. Martinez is currently out in Poland working as a pundit on ITV’s Euro 2012 coverage so it is unlikely he has been approached for the job either which could explain the current drift on him too.
Fabio Capello was seen out in Poland and Ukraine doing some scouting work and he is the 8/1 fourth favourite to be the man to replace Harry Redknapp. Whether he would come back to England to work after the acrimonious way he ended his tenure in charge of the England side remains to be seen but there would be a certain irony if the man who many thought Redknapp would replace as England boss replaces him in the Spurs hotseat.
