Nagenahira vs Basnahira Betting: League leaders Nagenahira can make it three wins from three in Pallekele
The second game of the day in the Sri Lankan Premier League on Friday is between the leaders going into the day Nagenahira Nagas and Basnahira Cricket Dundee. Nagenahira Nagas have won both their matches in the tournament so far and a win here will all but seal a semi final spot with three matches remaining. Basnahira have won one and lost one but will still be in a good position if they win this.
Nagenahira Nagas go into the match as the marginal 10/11 favourites on the best prices. That is with Ladbrokes. The Angelo Mathews led side have gone nicely in the tournament so far. Imran Nazir and Ahmed Shehzad have got them off to flying starts and the clever, cool batting of Angelo Mathews has ensured they have reached their targets without any dangers. Ajantha Mendis is their star man with the ball while Shaminda Eranga has to be respected too.
Basnahira Cricket Dundee have their captain Dilshan to thank for their totals in the competition so far. He has hit two half centuries in the first two matches and dominated the innings pretty much. The concern would be if he falls early but they do have Brad Hodge and Cameron Borgas who can score runs. For me it is with the ball where Basnahira are strongest. Charl Langeveldt is usually a good T20 bowler while Dilshan, Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep and Herath are all Sri Lanka internationals.
I like the league leaders here. Angelo Mathews has led his side very well even though he isn’t bowling at the minute. He has enough good bowling options to get by without having to use himself and with the bat he has batsmen who can get his side ahead of the rate before the spinners come on which is important in Sri Lanka. I’m slightly concerned for the Basnahira batting if Dilshan doesn’t get going and we’ve seen already that even if he does there’s no certainty they will win.
Back Nagenahira to beat Basnahira for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Ladbrokes
