Murray vs Tsonga Betting: Andy Murray can get the prestigious Grand Slam final spot

Once again, we already have some interest in one of the semifinals, as our pre-tournament outright bet on Novak Djokovic is still in play, so I am only going to look at the Murray-Tsonga match. The Scot is coming into it as a 1.46 favourite with Pinnacle, while the Frenchman can be backed at 3.00 with the same bookie.

As you may know, I backed David Ferrer to beat Andy Murray and success was not really that far away in all honesty. However, the Spaniard failed to take the second set and it went pretty much downhill after that. Such a victory must have been a tremendous boost for Murray, as he is now unbelievably close to his first Wimbledon title. Appearances might be deceiving, as he will still have to beat either Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer, but I fancy him to get himself into a good position before the final match.

The thing is, Tsonga is not playing that well. His serve is great, alright, but he does not have much apart from that. He just is not breaking anyone with any degree of frequency. That was OK against guys like Fish or Kohlschreiber, as they could not test his serve, but Murray will be able to do that and I cannot see Tsonga living with Murray from the baseline right now.

The Frenchman has some magic in his locker and this is probably his favourite Grand Slam, but, as the H2H record suggests, this is not a good match-up for him. Murray should be prepared for pretty much everything - he has managed to defeat a baseliner in David Ferrer and a serve-and-volley guy in Ivo Karlovic, so he will know what to do against Tsonga today.

Back Andy Murray (-3.5) to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for a 3/10 stake at 1.86 with Pinnacle
