Murray vs Federer Betting: We should be in for a tremendous clash on Sunday
Sunday should bring plenty of exciting matches over in the tennis section of the Olympic Games and the contest between Roger Federer and Andy Murray is undoubtedly going to be in the center of attention. The Swiss legend will be looking to complete his CV by winning the gold medal and everything seems to be pointing in his direction, but Andy Murray should not be underestimated after his performance against Djokovic and I would actually say that there might be some value in the odds that we can get for his victory at Pinnacle.
Regular readers might still remember that I backed Roger Federer to defeat Andy Murray fairly straightforwardly in the Wimbledon finals - and he managed to do just that on that day. However, that match was not really about Federer - Murray was the one who was dictating the pace early on and he was not that far from taking a 2-0 lead over Federer at one point. Unfortunately for the British fans, their hero struggled to cope with the pressure after the second set and his level dropped by a level or two.
Can he raise his game for this clash? Well, I think he can. His performance against Novak Djokovic was outstanding and the Serb had no chances whatsoever in that match and I fancy Murray to build on that today. On the other hand, I have not been overly impressed by Federer in recent days. In fact, I think that he was much better back in this year's Wimbledon. In my opinion, the Murray we have seen on Friday would beat the Federer we have seen on the very same day - and, for that reason, I am more than happy to have a small punt on him today.
