Mirza/Paes vs Azarenka/Mirnyi Betting: The value lies with the Indian duo
My second bet comes from the only contest that I have not looked at yet, the mixed doubles. The first round has indeed brought some interesting results and the entire betting menu looks like a minefield, but there is one match that I like nonetheless - the clash between Mirza/Paes and Azarenka/Mirnyi. Bet365 are offering 2.20 for the Indian duo.
First of all, Sania Mirza and Leander Paes are both tremendously experienced when it comes to doubles and they have kicked off their campaign with a very straightforward victory against Nenad Zimonjic and Ana Ivanovic, so I expect them to be on the top of their game today as well. They are undoubtedly spending plenty of time discussing tactics and preparing for this match-up, which should help them a lot. Paes should know the right tactics - after all, he has managed to beat the Belorussian duo with Elena Vesnina in this year's Wimbledon.
Max Mirnyi and Viktoria Azarenka have already played a few matches together and it seems that they are playing well, but it needs to be said that they have not had to face anyone really strong and this will be a tough challenge for them. Viktoria Azarenka is certainly going to be the weak link in this partnership - and she might easily end up being the worst player on the court. She is not a doubles specialist and her progress is also going to be hindered by the fact that she is going to play against Serena Williams just a few hours before this match. And that is going to be an extremely tiring encounter, you can be sure of that (it will either be a hard-fought victory or a demoralizing defeat in my opinion).
