Liverpool vs Tottenham Betting: Gareth Bale could be a danger to Liverpool back line

After seeing Chelsea drop two points on Sunday, Liverpool will be keen to pick up a win in front of the Kop when they entertain high flying Spurs in the Monday Night Football this weekend. Chelsea’s draw with Manchester United has meant Spurs can close to within 3pts of the defending champions in second place with a win here so there is all to play for on both sides of the pitch.

Liverpool fans will be pleased to see Luis Suarez back from his suspension for his alleged racist comments for this match. Steven Gerrard was rested for the win at Wolves last week but he is expected to return to the starting line up but Liverpool have concerns over injuries to Jay Spearing. Kenny Dalglish’s men haven’t won as many games at Anfield as they would have liked this season but they should be full of confidence having dumped both Manchester clubs out of the cups in the last fortnight.

Tottenham have been a breath of fresh air to watch this season and they will be attempting to do the double over Liverpool having beaten the Reds 4-0 at Anfield earlier in the season. Louis Saha could make his Spurs debut having signed on deadline day from Everton. Spurs have injury concerns over Jermain Defoe, Rafael van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor. Manager Harry Redknapp will fly up from his court trial to Anfield for this game.

Picking the winner of this match isn’t easy because both are strong sides and Spurs have a few offensive injury problems so I will go for an anytime goalscorer bet because the man I like the look of to score is a decent price. Liverpool are strong defensively down their left hand side but Glen Johnson can be shaky down the right hand side. Gareth Bale is one of the best left sided attackers in the world and with the likes of Modric and Parker supplying the front men I think Bale will get through down that side and the 7/2 on him to score anytime is just too big.
