Hyde vs Luton Betting: Title favourites Luton should have too much strength for newcomers Hyde

Hyde United are playing their first season in the Blue Square Premier league and on Friday night in their third match at this level they will host the warm favourites to win the title at the end of the season in Luton in front of the Premier Sports cameras. Hyde have drawn their first two matches of the season while Luton go into the game with a win and a draw under their belts.

Hyde will be looking for their first win of the season in this match having drawn their opening two matches against Braintree and Barrow. In Scott Spencer and Phil Jevons, Hyde have a couple of strikers who can challenge the Luton defence. Defensively Hyde will have to be at their very best in this match as Luton possess arguably the best strike force in the league.

Luton go into the match off the back of a very good win at Kidderminster on Tuesday night. Manager Paul Buckle has urged his side to be difficult to beat and to do the ugly side of the game in the belief that he has the attacking personnel to prevail if the platform is laid. The Hatters, who will go top of the table with a win here, will be without Danny Spiller, Alex Lacey, James Dance and Garry Richards in this match but Jake Howells returns from international duty.

Without too much disrespect to Hyde this is the sort of game that if Luton are serious about winning this league then they have to win it. Apart from a rotten first half against Gateshead in their opening match Luton have been playing well this season and you get the feeling if they can score early they will go on and win this well with the attacking personnel on show. Hyde are widely tipped to struggle this season and anything they get out of matches like this will be a bonus. Luton look better equipped to play three matches in six days which both these sides will be doing here and although I’m not a huge fan of betting on away sides at odds on I expect Luton to have what it takes to win this match.
