Hampshire vs Surrey Betting: Hampshire can continue their momentum with a win over Surrey
The Friends Life T20 returns to our screens again on Saturday with a vital match in the South Group of the tournament being the subject of attention of the Sky crew. The match comes from the newly named Ageas Bowl in Southampton as Hampshire take on Surrey. These two have both won this tournament in the past so know what it takes to go all the way. Bookmakers can’t separate the two sides with Betfred one of a number offering 10/11 the pair.
Hampshire come into this match with some real momentum coming along on their side. They have won their last three matches, all on the road, and they will be looking to make it four wins on the spin now that they are back on their own patch. Glenn Maxwell has been one of their heroes in the tournament so far with his explosive batting and good spin bowling ensuring the Royals don’t miss Shahid Afridi.
This will be Surrey’s second match since the awful tragedy of the death of Tom Maynard last week and it is a sign of how much the dressing room is still coming to terms with what happened that club captain Rory Hamilton-Brown returns to the side here but doesn’t feel up to captaining the side. Gareth Batty will skipper the side still. Surrey will be without Jade Dernbach who is away with England but Gary Wilson returns after being on Ireland duty.
Hampshire have shown they can get by without Michael Carberry who will miss this match with injury. Although I don’t like taking sides who play the night before I do think Hampshire are worth backing in this match. They are in the groove at the minute and have multiple match winners with bat and ball. Mentally Surrey could still be all over the place so with the momentum Hampshire have built up behind them I’ll take them to win this match.
