Ghana vs Tunisia Betting: Ghana can take advantage of slow Tunisia defence to progress to semi finals

Ghana were well fancied for the African Nations Cup before the competition started and they have made it into the quarter finals of the tournament without losing a match. Their reward for winning Group D is a quarter final clash with Tunisia on Sunday night. Tunisia came through an open group as runners up to Gabon and will be looking to kick on and book a place in the semi finals. Zambia await the winners of this tie.

Ghana haven’t played their best football in the tournament yet I don’t think. They have been quite laboured so far and their return of just four goals in three matches show that. Their skipper John Mensah is set to return to the side for this match after suspension and injury but goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey is a doubt. Midfielder Anthony Annan will play on despite the death of his mother earlier in the week so this will be an emotional match for him.

Tunisia have looked no better than ordinary in this tournament so far and it’s only the fact that Morocco missed a stack of chances against them that they remain in the tournament. Their defence looks painfully slow and has been found out a number of times but they have looked brighter going forward. Tunisia rested eight players in their last group match and they are all set to return here including their captain Karim Hagui.

For me the only question in this quarter final is whether Ghana will win it in normal time or if they will be taken to extra time. I can’t believe Ghana won’t break through this ultra slow Tunisian defence inside the 90 minutes though so I will take the Black Stars to win this match and win it inside the 90 minutes and set up a semi final against Zambia.
