Gasquet vs Berdych Betting: Richard Gasquet to win a set against Tomas Berdych
The ATP tournament in Toronto has been slightly derailed due to bad weather, but everything should return to normal today and I believe that we are going to see plenty of exciting matches - and the encounter between Tomas Berdych and Richard Gasquet should be one of them. The Czech number one is coming into it as a solid favourite (1.49 with Pinnacle), but I still cannot trust him at the moment and I am willing to go against him in some form today.
The thing is, there is something wrong with his game at the moment. According to the ATP rankings, he is the world's number seven right now, but you simply have to feel that he is not the seventh best player in the world right now. He has not played much in recent times, but the fact that he managed to win only one singles match on grass this year (against Troicki in Halle) speaks for itself really. It is hard to say what is the reason behind those poor performances, but the bottom line is that he is not a top 10 player right now by any means.
Richard Gasquet is also quite far from his best form at the moment, but he is still playing well enough to compete against Berdych and I fancy him to get something from this match. The H2H record, which currently stands at 3-3, suggests that he knows what do against the Czech and winning a set is fully within Gasquet's capabilities at the moment. After all, guys like Gulbis or Darcis have been winning in straight sets against Berdych in recent days and Gasquet is a level above them.
