Not sure if Bwin should be setting Chippenham Town at 3.15 at home to Truro City. Regulars will know I've been favouring Truro of late, and they have been doing better, but I can't make them odds on for a trip to a very capable side, who haven't conceded in six and have won five won five on the pop at home.

I've a few fancies for this midweek session. I can see the appeal of Gainsborough and Alfreton at home in the Conference North, and - depending on team news - Workington at Blyth Spartans. I've not taken any of these yet. In the BlueSq Prem, Histon's management are playing hardball with the senior players demanding improved contracts - this includes Nat Knight-Percival, Matt Langston and Danny Wright. There were hints that trouble was brewing when keeper Danny Naisbitt went last week. According to the Cambridge News website, they've been told to stay away from the club. That had little effect against a poor Gateshead side on Saturday - they put out a youthful side, but one that on paper looked reasonably capable and matched Gateshead in an end-to-end game that either side might have won. But on Tuesday they host a much better organised Tamworth - I like BlueSq's 11/5 on the match betting, and the widespread 7/1 about a Tamworth 1-0 correct score. However, there is still some way to go on this one, and the show of strength from the club could easily persuade the players to come back on board, although I don't think the club will move at all - they'll perhaps feel they have the points in the bag to survive. I've had those fixed odds plays, but most of the work will be done when the spreads come out, which should offer some interesting vehicles. Not many prices out lower down, although I'm happy to bag 13/8 Carshalton Athletic at Bognor Regis Town with Bet365. Carshalton did okay at Hastings and although Bognor got a superb win at Harrow on Saturday, they were hanging on grimly for most of the second half. I've a couple of other fancies down here, which will follow.

Today seems to be the important day. The administrators' fees are the sticking point at the moment - the consortium wanting to take over the club say they can't stump up for those and buy the club. Plans are already in place for the club to re-form at a lower level. I think it could go either way and we should know more by close of play today.

To follow up the posting from earlier this morning, Matt Langston won't be playing for Histon whatever happens this week - he's signed for Crawley on loan. BlueSq have trimmed the 11/5 Tamworth.

A couple of Step 4 plays at Bwin are of interest. I followed Garforth Town at Harrogate last week and they lost 2-1 but bounced back to win at Skem - at a tasty 7.0. They are, I maintain, an improving outfit, and despite their dodgy home record I'll back them at 2.4 at home to Prescot Cables in Unibond 1 North. Cables have hit a rocky patch and they really don't score enough - only bottom-feeders Rossendale have scored fewer. In the Unibond 1 South, I'll take improving Lincoln United at 2.9 at home to Carlton Town. 'Improving' and 'Lincoln United' aren't often words you see together, but they have some surprising quality in the squad such as Matt O'Halloran and Sean Wilkinson, and Sean Cann is back from injury. They're unbeaten in seven. There's not much wrong with Carlton and they come into this off the back of a cracking win at Witton, but it's fair to say that Witton are easier meat at the moment, with a punishing crop of injuries. Bwin have rejigged their quote about Chippenham to 2.10, in from the 3.15 recommended above.

It's fair to say Dover Athletic haven't been as effective at home as in their early-season pomp but they look a bit of value on the HT/FT at 13/10 with BlueSq. They play a Worcester City side that is badly out of sorts, with a stretched squad that's only performing in fits and starts under new boss Carl Heeley. This is a nightmare trek midweek and given that a few players on Saturday had knocks I wouldn't be surprised to see a undernourished squad travelling for this one. Dover have been off the boil for a while by their standards, but they are still grinding out the points and I think they'll have too much power for the visitors.

Just seen the first spreads from Sporting Index on the Histon/Tamworth game. I think, initially, a sell of the Histon mini-performance at 19 looks in order. I am also tempted by a sell of the time of Tamworth's second goal, though this a risky bet. Christie's goal minutes will be interesting.

Christie's goal minutes are a 14 to buy at Sporting Index. That strikes me as a Sporting punt. He's not been particularly prolific in none-too-progressive side, but he's in decent enough form, there's a case for thinking Tamworth will be stronger and fitter later in the game. I'll buy.

| How will the absence of Histon's six contract rebels effect them? Keeper Danny Naisbitt, Matt Langston, Danny Wright, Lanre Oyebanjo, Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Bradley Hudson-Odoi were all absent at the weekend and should miss out again. I'm not too familiar with the smaller BSP sides, so would appreciate a heads up as to whether they are big enough misses?

One more for me: Stourbridge at home to Tiverton Town (Evs with Skybet). Even though wing-wizard Sean Evans only made a fleeting second coming, the form of the home side has been excellent - five straight home wins and with some decent scalps along the way. Tivvy - who were talking about the playoffs a month ago - have only beaten whipping boys Clevedon Town in seven and were outplayed on Saturday by a Merthyr side that has been desperately out of sorts. Evs is pretty big. Elsewhere in this section, Corals offering of 4/5 about Merthyr Tydfil at home to Clevedon Town is excellent acca material. I think the 4/7 quote about Kendal Town is a little generous also - they can wobble at home but they are a quality side facing a patched up Nantwich struggling with injuries who are in no sort of form. I'm on Tamworth, Stourbridge, Merthyr, Dover HT-FT, Kendal and Carshalton (that 13/8 has gone) and may take something on the BlueSq North teams mentioned above if team news looks promising. I see also that Cambridge United are 6/5 with Skybet for the visit if Histon on Saturday - a lot can happen before then, but it looks promising.

I saw Histon put in a completely tepid display at Kidderminster on 27th Feb when they were easily beaten 3-0. Their manager, Alan Lewer, criticised the team severely afterwards and said they were terrible from start to finish. That squad included the regular players mentioned above. Three of them started the game and the other two came on as 2nd half subs. As Ships has said, the players who have been brought in to plug the gaps have seemingly done adequately against both Rushden and Gateshead. It's a pity that ordinary Tamworth are the opponents tomorrow. It's a no bet for me, except that I have followed Ships on a buy of Iyseden Christie's goal minutes at 14. He was always a big favourite of most of the Kidderminster fans where he had his two best goal-scoring spells. He should be getting fit by now, as he was really out of condition after very brief forays with Telford and Farnborough before Christmas when it looked as if his career was finished. Christie scored the only goal against Gateshead last week after returning from suspension. Last Saturday he reportedly had at least 3 decent efforts on goal against Rushden.
