It's back! Mob Forum League V Starts 4 November

The fifth Mob forum league will kick off Tuesday 4th November with $12,000 in World Series prizes added (3 x $4000 packages for the 2009 WSOP) plus thousands of dollars worth of added bounty prizes.
Those of you who've played before will know the score. Full Tilt Poker every Tuesday at 8pm UK Time (3pm by the Full Tilt ET clock). You'll find the tournament under the private tab in the tourament lobby and the password you'll need to enter is "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX". The password remains the same each week. If you have any questions or feedback regarding the league please email league@thehendonmob.com.
The entry fee is still $10+$1 with a variety of games being played over the league. Tournaments pay out the standard prize money structure.

New Bounty Prizes

Every week there will be bounties on various players and points are awarded . These points will show next to your name in the league table and are redeemable at any time for items from the Bounty Store. Amongst the bounties in the first tournament will be special guest, top UK and FTP pro Dave Colclough who will be worth 20 bounty points

Dont miss the new rules for the bounty points

IMPORTANT: In order to qualify for bounty points you MUST post in the official forum thread in the Mob Forum for each particular tournament. This can not be done retrospectively! So anyone who knocks out a bounty player that has not posted in the official thread on that day will NOT get the points and the post must be made BEFORE the bounty is won.

Some more details

Responding to the feedback from last season we have made a few positive changes. The points system has again been revised and the same points are awarded for the top 20 finishers each week irrespective of the number of entrants. The games have changed slightly to provide more variety and include a heads up shootout event.
We will have three equal prizes of a WSOP* 2009 support event buy-in ($1500) plus expenses ($1000 flight, $1000 hotel) plus spending money ($500) Total package worth $4000. The three packages would be won as follows.

1. Outright league winner: package plus solid gold Hendon Mob lapel badge.
2. The league runs for 6 months and we will have an individual monthly winner each month. The top points scorer for each month plays a 6 man SnG for a package.
3. The 18 highest placed finishers in the league, excluding those who won the league or a seat in the 6 man SnG, play a 2 table SnG for the 3rd package.

In the likely event that a monthly winner wins the league, they do not qualify for the 6 man SnG. Their place is taken by the highest place league finisher who did not win a 6 man seat. It is therefore possible that a player finishing as low as 25th in the league can still make the playoffs.

The league starts November 4th and runs for six months. It is played every Tuesday at 8pm UKT (3pm ET). The playoffs will be on May 5th and 6th. Most tournaments are no limit hold'em but there are also limit hold'em, pot limit omaha, razz and other events including a heads up shootout to let you show off your skills in several poker disciplines.

I'm interested in this but don't have a bean in FT. How many entrants did each event get last year? Also, what is the standard like? I'm guessing I would need $200 as a bankroll?

Think it started around January last year - the monthly incentive will presumably keep numbers up throughout, I've had a quick look back at the previous years thread and I went out 122nd in the first tourney - so your probably looking at around 125 each tournament

I remember 'Glceud' did very well last year although looking back at the thread he didnt win his word series seat via this method.

From the above snippets of information I'll let you use your own judgement as to the standard

Started on jan 15th last year(birth of my daughter) and there was 153 runnrs(my lucky number).

Did there not used to be a league in the Autumn first then the second league in Jan?

you might not need that much really,$100 would be enough.
you still cash normally in the tourneys, so you might end up ahead anyway.think i was about $300 up on last seasons games.

one thing i would say is being able to play variants well is a distinct advantage ,especially this year

last year the variant tourneys usually pulled in about 80-100 players so were easier to get in the points,also some players were playing and didnt have a clue
as its not no's based now it should swing even more in your favour ,if you can play all of them(which i know you can)

You have to post before the tourney starts I think - not after you claim your bounty.....
