PuntersLounge/PokerKings August Sit N Go Challenge

Copied across to illustrate prizes available
Original thread here;

*** Poker Kings/Punterslounge August Sit n Go Challenge ***

This competition is open to all members as of yesterday (31st July 2008) and will run for 3 weeks, starting on Monday 4th August and finishing midnight Friday 29th August.

Punterslounge and PokerKings will reward the players with the best ROI on a set of 10 sit n go’s as follows;

  • 1st Prize: €200
  • 2nd Prize: €120
  • 3rd Prize: €80

Rules (Amended 12/08/2008 - amendments shown in red)

For the purposes of this comp., a qualifying set of 10 sit n go’s must all be played at the same level. You can mix the set between any available on PokerKings as long as they are played at the same buy in, this means that players who prefer MTT’s can have a go playing the 30 man tourneys if they so wish.

Each player should start their own thread in which to record their progress in the Poker Chat Forum. The thread title should be as close as possible to;“PuntersLounge name’s Sit N Go Challenge set x played at €x” - My thread name would be "Valiant23's €3 SnG Challenge Set 1".

ONLY once a player has completed a set, they are entitled to start another, and are completely free to choose which level they play at. They must start a new thread in which to record their results.

In your thread, you must post a screenshot of the tournament lobby within 5 minutes of the start of the comp, and you must also post a screenshot showing the end of the comp, along with any cash won. Unreadable screenshots will not be accepted. As a safeguard, I would recommend making a note of the tournament ID as well.

NEW RULE(replacing the one struck out above)
In your thread it is necessary for you to post a screenshot of the tournament lobby with 5 minutes of the start of the comp, for the first game in any set only. You must also post a screenshot showing your prize money. If you lose, I will accept "Game X, post #XX, lost".

Screenshots are still required for subsequent games of any set, within a reasonable amount of time from the start.

Posting "Game 3 started, finished last" is NOT acceptable alone.

If you multi table, the onus is on you to make it as clear as possible which tournament you are refering to. With this in mind, if 2 or more starting screenshots are posted without being separated by an end game screenshot, then I instead of "Game X, post #12, lost", a post quoting the starting screenshot, followed by a typed result is vital;

How to post a screenshot

The results of any prize winners will be verified by Poker Kings, and any winning set’s found to have missed any results out of their set will result in that set being disqualified – this is done to ensure that people don’t play 20 and pick and choose their best 10 results (as an example).

It is entirely possible for one player to win more than one prize.

To work out your R.O.I. take the returns from your set of 10, and divide it by the total spent. Eg;
10 games at €3 with an outlay of €33.00 and a return of €57
24 ÷ 33 x 100 = ROI of 72%

10 games at €10 with an outlay of €110 and a return of €60
-50 ÷ 110 x 100 = ROI of -45.45%

EDIT: I'll try and keep a list of current challenges in this post.

Any questions/queries, please post in this thread.

Questions

Quote:
So I have to take a screen shot...put it on a host site, get the link and post it in my own thread...all within 5 minutes (and play poker at the same time!).
I hope you realise how bloody slow I can be on my PC !
(OH!...or is it just that the screenshot has to be taken within first 5 minutes???)
I understand that it may seem a lot of effort, but 5 minutes is a lot of time (when playing a sit n go) so most people ought to be able to manage this. I'm prepared to cut people slack and allow them to just take the screenshot and see how that works, but I may have to be strict if any problems arise.
Quote:
OK...done that and unplaced in my first three games...So I am now stuck with having to complete all ten games before having another go...or would it be possible to declare a set dead and start another one? (maybe at a different level to prevent skullduggery?)
7 wins out of 10 games would still show a ROI of over 200% on the 10 seat tables. We settled on 10 games because we thought it would be short enough for those who have a rotten set, and we thought it would be close at the top for those who have a good set.

IF we allowed people to scrap a set and start again after 3, 5, or even 7 then we're allowing the unscrupulous the option of going all in first hand in an effort to double up or die, so I'm afraid we have to insist on a set completed.
Quote:
I have let's say picked 3€ games and have played five so far...accepting that I can't start another challenge until I have completed this one...however am I allowed to play a couple of 10€ games without it affecting my current challenge ?
You can do what you want elsewhere, as long as you don't try and include it in the results of your current set.
Quote:
Here we go again...I need two screenshots for the first game...fine.
Do I then need two similar for each and every leg played after that?
Yes
Quote:
It may become problematic if I have a game starting half way through another one.
If you're planning on multi-tabling all 10 then I can see that, but its a good habit to stagger when multi-tabling sit n go's so maybe taking screenshots (and allowing time to do so) will help your game
Quote:
.or...once I've started the set of ten going...will screenshots of each endgame suffice???
Not really, we'd prefer start and end 'shots

Nice one!

Quick question...if you play a $5 turbo STT have the rest to be Turbos or is it just the value that has to remain the same?

Yes thats right the value of the buy-in.

You can play 5 seaters, 10 seaters, 20 seaters, 30 seaters, pays4, coolers, and HU (and any others not mentioned) at the same buy in, although obviously the juice must be taken into consideration when calculating ROI.

I haven't played STTs for ages but I'm tempted to give this a go, if only to remind myself why I stopped playing them.

Like the look of this...just want to ask a few questions before we start on Monday.
Understand please that I am not questioning just for the sake of it...just want to have everything straight in my head before it starts.

Finally can I ask PokerKings...could you introduce some 10 cent STTs as of monday...PLEASE!!!

Looking forward to this one...well done yet again PL

By the way...when I open this thread I have a pop-up message saying:

? This website wants to run the following add-on: '2007 Microsoft Office component'. If you trust the website and the add-on and want it to run, click here... X

Think it's to do with whatever Valiant has above the title on the first post.

Dodge, regards the first post I copied it out of Office so I guess its included some hidden formatting.

However I don't get that when I open this thread at all.

I've answered your queries and added them to post #1...thanks for them.
