There were about 10 people in with a shot at winning the league so I was certain that I had blown it. Got 77 and JJ early on which I ended up folding to reraises. Limped into a couple more pots which I had to fold post flop. It felt like I was the bounty. Then couldn't find a hand in position. In the end I was down to less than 3BB I think and UTG+1 I got 1010. Unfortunately UTG raised before me, and I hate not being 1st in when I'm all in, but just felt I had to do it. Anyway he had AJ and hit both on the flop.

Then all the right people started going out and I thought I might just hang on to 2nd at least. Duncan even came downstairs to see what the scream was when someone went out. It's a dangerous thing, having a spreadsheet to play with.

No one else I would rather have come up on the rails anyway.

Tourneys for the Festival League run every Monday and Tuesday at 8.45pm (BST).

What?
Play in the 'Virgin Festival League' tourneys (€2) every Monday and Tuesday and earn league points. At the end of the month the top 2 players earn an open festival seat to be used for the Virgin Poker Festival of their choice and €250 gets spread across the remaining top 10 finishers.

Points will be awarded for the top 20 finishers in each tourney and each player’s top 4 finishes of the month will count towards their final league standing.

Thank you AG for posting this up each night. I always log on to have a look. Although I'm doing well so far, your experience last month taught me that I'm still a long way off.

In order to win the league you really do need to win one of the league games outright and get the all important 100 points.

Even another 50 pointer will be nowhere near enough, I have to gamble heavily and go for the win if I'm lucky enough to reach another FT.
