Once I'd finished my game and having no more poker to play, decided to watch the other tables...unfortunately there seems to be no observer chat...or maybe fortunately as I might have put you lads off.

Davey had already finished with a well respectable 3rd place, leaving only the two tables left...

I'm sure when I checked on Adetrick's table he sat 6th of 7 and in a spot of bother.
My PC crashed and when I got back on it was down to a heads up vs Voice of Joe where our man showed just how to play a big stack HU...Joe just never had a chance to catch his breath it was just bloody awesome!

So...off to see how errigal was doing...down to 3 players and it was a dour battle till he pulled QQ to get the chip lead for the HU vs oddsox. Never looked in danger from then on...finally finishing it off with a lovely AA.

A great overall team performance tonight then with 2 wins...Super, Great, Smashing.

Okay, I am putting myself in the lineup - even though I have been shite the past few games I have played - if anyone wants to play instead of me give me a shout.

A few ideas.

Maybe an idea to form a more structured method of picking the team for later tournaments...particularly if the squad increases to say 10 players or more (???) by then.
At the moment it seems we often just have the five available for each game so it's working out OK, but with more players it will become more complicated.
Years ago used to play in a Darts team and we used a very simple method that anybody who lost a match, or didn't turn up, went to the bottom of the list...then everybody knew where they stood...perform or drop out for a while!

Don't get me wrong here...what we are currently doing is fine by me (in fact I seem to be playing more games than most ), but I think it is only working because we have a small pool of players.

Looking at the table it seems we are booked for an absolute minimum 7th place and I'm wondering if the tactic of very tight till the sitouts go is working against me. I'm starting to detest playing the first hour of these games, particularly when I'm up against a player who is raising every hand...so I end up folding pretty decent hands to ensure I hit the points.
But then when I get to the last 6 or 7 I am way behind and struggling even to hold on.
So I think I'm going to loosen it up a little from now on, in effect to play my normal game, as I think this will give me a better shot later in the game.
After all...it looks like wins are all important...4th or 5th places are all well and good, but they don't seem to affect the final points as much as you'd think.

Great to hear about your views about it all

Regarding the picking of players - don't feel that I have had to "pick" yet - we are only 8 players and it seems that not everybody is available every time, I know I am not.

I don't think we will be more than 8 players later on we're the team - that's it.

However if it becomes a problem I am happy to go with your picking method - I agree with the "perform and play" strategy
