I think GAF was being a bit underhanded and copied my selection & ensuring he a penny more than me left.

Hehe - call it "strategic thinking" from a Poker player

I was quite surprised when you put your selection in the open -it was originally my intention to just back Leeds, but then when I saw Johnbens selections, I realised it gave me no chance of finishing above him if we both won - and I had to select all 3 teams to have a shot at staying above him if he won (whilst keeping my stake small enough to stay above you if we both lost) - if he lost I knew I was above him regardless...

Don't know if my joy is being justified. Youssef mentioned in the Final selections thread that it's 4 of us going up.

But only 3 dropped from Dv 1...

Oh well , might stick around for another season here and post some more tongue0-in-cheek stuff

I've got no problem with things staying as they are. I din't know about that rule when I put up my selections anyway.

If you wish I'll take 1p compensation from GAF's total. LOL.

Looking at it, because I lost I'm guessing there's no impact

, but if I'd won, I imagine I'd have lost the bet - so it was effectively a "no win" proposition from me....

I wasn't intending to cheat (or be unsporting), but I do like to try and find advantages within the rules (apparently I'm a complete nightmare to play Monopoly against - but I seldom lose

) - maybe I'll learn a lesson from it (but probably not

) - next season it may be better for you to PM the final days selections

GaF's right,
Because he lost, the table actually stays the same, he lost his potential winnings and his stake and he gets a no show. If both bets would have won then Posh would be the winner. (unless GaF had 3 no shows already that is).
The rule was brought in to stop this kind of situation, in this case the player in the wrong has still gained, i will amend the rule for next season so this will not benefit those breaking the rules.

Your a nightmare GaF, and you got away with it

PS: Only 3 will go up by the way Marek. TQB did drop out of Div1 but re-applied in time so he just drops the one division.

Brookes: Try harder or not, either way I'm happy! On the one hand, I'll be happy if you get promoted, and on the other hand if you don't I will have the pleasure of meeting you every weekend for yet another 9/10 weeks

Posh & GottaFancy: An honest mistake has reolved itself but the treble not winning, so the situation stays the same. For the recor, GottaFancy did PM me and explicitly indicated he wished the rule to stand, which proves his sportsmanship. Posh also shows his sportsmanship on this thread by proposing the rule not to be applied. Both of you guys deserves to get promoted, but -most of all- deserve our respect!

Jay68: I'll miss you, my friend. Good luck with the guys upstairs. (P.S. I hope I'll never see you competing in this division ever again. You are welcome to take over the admin job though, when I finally make it to Div 2!!)

Marek: Sorry, mate. My mistake. I assumed too quickly. However, I'll "put up" with my friends forever and ever more, so rest assured you are pretty welcome to stay in this division that long.. if so you wish!
