Already put LOTS of money on England tonite, they are home team, and as they are not aexpected to go too far, the first win against the worst team on the tournament is crucial

Soccer Re: womens euro 2005 5/6/05

For anyone interested, the first ladies match this evening is on Eurosport, 5p.m., Sweden v Denmark, ( hotbed of scandinavian babes etc. etc., and other relevant sexist remarks), and will be a good scale to judge the England team against.

As for England ladies, their opponents, Finland, are an unknown quantity to me, but we do have some excellent players.

I will be recording the stats for all matches, in order to make useful predictions in the near future and posting on this thread.

Good luck!

Soccer Re: womens euro 2005 5/6/05

More info available on www.theFA.com , women's football.

England are on an unbeaten 10 match run. If Aluko or Yankey play, back 2.5 goals or more, and if you can find a bookie who takes goalscorers, back these two players to score.

Total corners= 10 or more, bookings, normally clean matches, less than 30/35.
Could be draw/England, (depending on how quickly they take to get their make up on). Ouch.

Just had a piece of England @ 4/5. I watched the cup final (charlton everton) last month and they`ve a few decent players there! I know very little but will do it for the interest/craic

Buying total goals. Some hot babes in Finland team, if blonde is your favourite colour.

Excellent minimalist avatar, PTDSEI, for a bit of chauvinist fun I was trying to work out how many fin. ladies were true 'blondes'.

The book is; less than 6, 11/10, 6 or more, 4/6 on.

Any idea how we can find out? (hah!)

Goal number 3, tempted to trade again when spread comes down to 4.

Feels like more goals to come, maybe the odd booking......

Just finished watching the last 20 mins of this and it werent too bad. Rather impressed with a few saves from the Finnish keeper.

Players were rather easy on the eye too, not the munters you usually expect to be playing football.

Just finished watching the game, the Finns were better must admit, though is very interesting how bad the defences were.

Luckilly the pretty one scored the third goal, so I am a pretty rich man at the mo . Did not watch the other game, but I cant believe any of the two should hope for any success in the tournament.

I couldn't see this thread earlier!

I was thinking about the goalkeepers. I think the explanation is simple (but worth saying): women are smaller than men. Therefore, the difference between male goalkeepers and female goalkeepers is more apparent than with outfield players.

Predict lots of goals! Although, having said that, this did not happen in the other game...
