Default INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES

Romania vs Japan
Finland vs Canada
Ukraine vs Macedonia
Brazil vs Jamaica

And it is the latter i will be talking about. Brazil 1/5 play at leicester city to take on the might of reggae boyz (you going matt?)

Anyways.....

Quote:
10/11/2003. BACKGROUND

Leicester City will host Brazil and Jamaica on Sunday in the first meeting between the two Western nations since 1998. Back on Valentine's Day of that year the Samba Kings edged the Reggae Boyz 1-0 in the third-place match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Jamaican manager Carl Brown has called in thirteen foreign-based players. Nine of those make their living in England, one in Scotland, and three in the United States. Brown knows what he is up against saying, "This is the biggest game that we'll be engaged in."

While the likes of Chicago Fire's Andy Williams and Bolton's Ricardo Gardner will give Brazil plenty of fits, Williams' Fire teammate, striker Damani Ralph, may catch the five time world champions unawares. Ralph has been in devastating form for his club side in his first season as a professional, and it probably will not be long before he joins some of his compatriots abroad.

For the canaries' manager Carlos Alberto Parreira the tie with Jamaica represents an opportunity to see many of the European-based players together ahead of Brazil's next 2006 World Cup qualifier. The big guns have been called in, highlighted by Ronaldo, Ronaldinho Gaucho and Milan's starlet Kaka. Roberto Carlos and Lucio will help fortify the back. There are no injury doubts to report.

Brazil's last match was a World Cup qualifier against Ecuador. The pentecampeao defeated Ecuador 1-0. Jamaica last played on September 7, against Australia in Reading. The Socceroos ran away 2-1 victors over the Reggae Boyz.

PROBABLE LINEUPS:

BRAZIL: Dida, Cafu, Lúcio, Roque Júnior, Roberto Carlos; Emerson, Gilberto Silva, Zé Roberto, Kaká; Ronaldo, Rivaldo.
Technical Director: Carlos Alberto Parreira

JAMAICA: Ricketts; Davis, Sinclair, Goodison, Ziadie; Gardner, Fuller, Williams, Whitmore; Lisbie, Ralph.
Technical Director: Carl Brown
For me that probable line up looks as strong as ever and cannot see anything but a samba victory. Get on it

Got to agree here FF,

Brazil appear to be playing with the big guns and against a side like Jamaica it shoud be a good workout with a comfortable win be 2-3 goals.

Brazil will have guys like Juninho, Denilson and Ronaldinho on the bench if needed ... pretty much sums it up really

I will be going 10/10 @ 1.20 on Brazil.

I'll be going to the game today at the Walker Stadium.

How some of you are going to lump on Brazil at 1.2 amazes me?

With respect chaps - have you learnt nothing???

NEVER, EVER, EVER, BET ON INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES.

Brazil have a very poor record lately (or is my memory playing tricks with me?) in matches that don't matter. I remember them playing a decent selection against China and drawing 0-0.

Brazil might well win (I hope they score 8 - I want some action!) - but I would never bet on it.
