| I don't like the idea of predicting Ukraine v Italy, but I found this interesting. Italy have won all 4 of their competitive games against Ukraine by at least two goals. And the Ukraine have never beaten a team ranked higher than 14 by Fifa at home. Italy are around 'evens' for this, so they'll feature on my coupon. Possibly my favourite bet of the week is Slovakia to beat Wales. Around 4-6 for a Slovakian win. They beat Wales 5-1 away from home, Germany have just effectively put to bed any hopes Wales had of qualifying and Jason Koumas has pulled out of the squad.........definitely a selection for me. |

| Czech Republic - Ireland pick- Ireland do not score 2.82 in my opinion or Czech Rep. win 1-0 or draw 0-0. Galásek and Polák are two defensive midfilders...but Galásek played badly against San Marino as all Czech players. Czech Republic: Čech - Ujfaluši, Kováč, Rozehnal, Jankulovski - Sionko (Jarolím), Rosický, Galásek, Polák - Baroš, Fenin. Ireland: Given - O´Shea, McShane, Dunne, Kelly - McGeady, Carsley, Reid, Kilbane - Keane, Doyle. |

| I'm hoping Wales put up a better showing in Slovakia than they did in Cardiff against the same opposition. Surely they can't play as badly as they did then! Mind you, they didn't exactly fill me full of confidence following an abject showing against the Germans on Saturday in Cardiff. If they get their act together and play as they can they can get a draw but I wouldn't bet on it with any confidence!

| BBC's website is reporting that the Slovakian squad is suffering from a bout of food poisoning. Does anyone know how serious the situation is ? Could affect whether or not I back them tonight ! ![]() |

| Here are my crazy bets ![]() Finland H (+1.5 ) - Poland. Pick 2 @ 5.00 (my local bookie) Why? Because I'm from Poland After lucky draw in Portugal morale rised up. Everybody here knows that today's match is more importand than last one.I see two scenarios. First one: It could be tight game. Especially that we have problems with attackers. So draw is possible. Second: One team win confidently and it'll be Poland becouse we know that 3 points here give us promotion to Euro 2008 in practice. And Leo Benhakker change forwarders to those who scores. I think price aobut 5.0 is worth taking. (1/10) Kazakhstan - Belgium. Pick 2 @ 1.70 I think Belgium will win this one. Kazakhstan doesn't have quality to win. I expect 0:1 here. Belgium lost their away matches again Serbia, Portugal and Finland and win against Armenia which is closer to Kazahstan than others 3 teams. (4/10) Albania H (+1.5) - Netherlands. Pick 2 @ 1.65 The same situation. Albania home: Romania 0:2, Slovenia 0:0, Luxembourg 2:0. I can't see how Albanian defenders stop Sneijder. (4/10) Last edited by loc; 12-09-2007 at 11:15. |

| I fancy "both teams to score" in Slovenia - Belarus game today. Slovenia missing both starting central defenders and with new look midfield with both CMs looking offensive (Vrsic and Stevanovic). Latest games vs. these two all finished with both teams scoring: 1-1, 1-1 and if i remember right 3-1 or 3-2. odds are set @ around 1.75-1.80 |

| If someone knows a little bit of Serbian - please help translate this from their official site. It says something about player problems, but I cannot quite understand it Quote:

| Boško Jankovič out, also Žigič not enough fit, Smiljanič back into U21 squad, Krstajič out (knee).. Coach left with only 15 players+ 2 goalies from 21 selected for those two games hope that helps |

| Just one for me: Soccer - Norway/Greece - total Over 2 (-114) for the regulation time held on Sep 12 at 12:00pm [pending] Norway's defense is not as good as their run against Malta, Hungary and Moldova would have you believe. They have a clear height advantage on set pieces, and they need a good result here. Greece has yet to concede on the road, but those games were at Bosnia, Malta and Moldova...Greece leads Norway by 2 points in the group, and so will be satisfied with a draw, but the two teams have too much power for this one to end 0-0. I will be surprised if both teams didn't score here.

| Croatia -3 and over 3.5 Croatia lead the group and look confidently at scoring quite a few goals here. They won 7-0 at home against Andorra after Andorra tried to hold them out but then the floodgates opened. Andorra are missing a few palyers from that game while Croatia will look to build up there goal difference. Norway under 2 Should be a very tight game between the two top teams of group C with Norway only conceding 2 goals at home and Greece yet to concede one away. Greece won at home 1-0 and will be happy to sit back and hold the Norwegians out with a boring 0-0 draw In 4 previous game between the two teams, there has been a 2-0 win and 3 1-0 wins, so under looks very likely Turkey -1.5 Turkey were a bit unlucky to draw 2-2 against Malta but they have savaged by their press with this result. They should lift for this game as they realise that they need to win to give themselves a chance in the top 2. It will be a very imtimidating atmosphere for the Hungarians as the crowd will be the 12th man for the Turks Spain -2.5 Spain will be looking to make for their surprising draw in Iceland by beating latvia at home in front of their demanding home crowd. They beat them 2-0 away and it is hard to see the Latvians stopping Villa and Torres from causing havoc with their defence Ukraine under 2.5 The Ukraine have a good home record while the Italians have a good away record. The Italians have some players out injured so will start the match tentatively. Ukriane now they can't open up too much because if they concede then the Italians will close the game up as they are the masters of this. Can't see many goals scored here, because f one team scores the other will shut up shop. Albania under 2.5 Reports are that the pitch is in bad condition so don't expect the Dutch to have their fluid game here. They will be happy to come away with a 1-0 win as it is not an easy place to play. England under 2.5 Two very good defences meet as England hasn't conceded a goal at home while Russia hasn't conceded away. The Russians will have seen the way the English disposed of the Israelis will play a very compact game. Both teams will be sluggish after playing reasonably tough games on the weekend. |

Not a match to bet heavily cos' fans are angry after Malta draw, and if the things go wrong, an early goal by Hungary or draw till the last quarter may turn the atmosphere in the other direction for the players... Some injuries or doubtful players's (or their performance even they play) is another worry that Coach Terim sould deal with...

| Next bet for me, England v Russia - Half time result draw @ 2.34 Russia have conceded only once in qualifiers so far. England have had 7/8 clean sheets in qualifying thus far. So both teams obviously have capable defences, and with a lot to play for, I believe this will be a very cagey affair - especially to begin with. Half time results so far show Russia have been drawing in 4/8 of their games and England in 5/8, therefore this 11/8 price looks like value to me. Other prices reflect that this will be a low scoring affair, like under 2.5 goals is just 1.68ish which to me is too short. Also the 0-0 halftime is of interest however at 2.80 I don't see it as a much better price than halftime draw. |

| The half time draw England Russia seems a reasonable bet, another one to look at is Luxemburg +3 away to Bulgaria. They are not the whipping boys they once were and have not lost a game by more then 3 goals inqualifying, even to the dutch! 8 games played and 17 conceded. Ok, they are away against Bulgaria who have petrov and Berbatov but no way do I rate the Bulgarian attack as good as the Dutch. 1.92 with betfair and 1.95 with bet365 _ even if they lose by 3, money back so decent odds ![]() |
