Still don't get how a 2nd gets to play one of the 3rds in the quarters. Surely the two 3rd placers should be pitted against teams that won their group.

9 minutes to be precise. Excellent prediction!! Hope you took some of the money that seems to be flowing on the overs. This tournament is unreal. Never bet on it in my life but just putting on a few quid on o1.5 (what a chicken!! ) before I go to bed and waking up to profit each day!

| Venezuela v Peru 1 UNIT Peru ( PK ) @ 2.17 Book : Pinnacle These two faced each other in the 2004 tournament with Peru winning 3-1. The bookies have the the hosts Venezuela as favorites though I think Peru are the better team - Venezuela have only won 1 game in there last 45 games in this tournament. Home advantage will play some part. Think Venezuela will score but so will peru. Think there will be some goals Venezuela's Copa America record P 45, W 1, D 7, L 37, GF 29, GA 149, GD -120 Peru's Copa America record P 128, W44, D 31, L 53, GF 188, GA 212, GD -24 Last edited by ukgaz; 29-06-2007 at 11:57. |

| Bolivia @7.50 or Bolivia AH(0) @4.50 is serious value. Sure it is a must win for Uruguay but its also a very important match for the Bolivians who were impressive vs the host Venezualans. Bolivia's Arce is a dynamite 17 yo forward and I can see him making the difference. Uruguay were outo sorts against Peru and Peru aren't that much better than Bolivia. |

| Btw this is the first time I have really followed this tourny, and I must say it is impressive. Great action and the soccer has been top notch. The defending is porous at times, as I have seen plenty of blunders at the back but the movement and the close control in the midfield has been fantastic. |

| Argentina/Brazil double is available @ 1.80 on Betfair. Can not see the Argies slipping up against Columbia as they are the strongest team in the tournament by a long way. The team last night was one that they could take to the World Cup: Roberto Abbondanzieri; Roberto Ayala, Gabriel Heinze, Gabriel Milito, and Javier Zanetti; Juan Roman Riquelme, Juan Sebastian Veron, Esteban Cambiasso, and Javier Mascherano; Lionel Messi and Hernan Crespo. If you look at their World Cup XI (from last summer) there are only a few changes: Burdisso > Zanetti Saviola > Messi Sorin > Milito Rodriquez >Veron Brazil were a tad unlucky against Mexico, and the game could have gone either way. Even thought their starting XI is not as strong as it could be, it is still impressive. Feel they will have to much for Chile. |

| salut Roberto my treble for the weekend is Peru/Ecuador/Uruguay. Peru should be able to overcome the host nation who has such a poor record in the Copa, the other two must win this next match if they want to progress and both can do it. Was so very surprised Ecuador went down to Chile on Wednesday night. |

| Does anyone know what the record is between Brazil and Chile? The few games I've noticed between them aways seem to have Brazil as comfortable winners but I'm looking for some stats to back that up.

| Tournament: Copa America 2007 Match: Venezuela v Peru Date: 30/6/07 Time: 23:55 cet Reccomended Bet: Peru +0.25 AH @ 1.85 SBObet 3/10 I really do find odds for this game very confusing to be honest. Venezuela are favourites but if anyone saw their opening match against Bolivia then they will realise that they played really badly and perhaps even deserved to lose. They were severely overrated by bookies in that game and once more the pattern continues against Peru. IMO they were one of the most impressive teams in the opening round of games as they thumped Uruguay 3-0. If they continue that performance again today then I have no doubts that they can claim victory, at very minimum a draw. What we must remember is that despite Venezuela’s home advantage, in this competition they simply don’t have enough quality to match up to the best in this continent. The pressure is also raised as they play at home and expectations will be high. We saw against Bolivia that they just couldn’t handle it very well and were outplayed in most departments. Venezuela showed good clinicality in that game but I’m not so sure if they will repeat it against Peru. The AH line of +0.25 is simply delicious IMO and I’m amazed that we are given the chance of this bet. Peru will definitely at least draw this one IMO and more than likely win it. I’m willing to stake 3/10 on this outcome and am confident of cashing in.

| I nearly took Bolivia +1 but in the end there probably just isn't enough value. Uruguay lost 0-3 against Peru but I dont think they are that bad a team to be honest. Peru were very impressive against them and Bolivia wont be as tough a challenge. It's a tough one IMO and I wouldnt be surprised to see Uruguay win by just a 1 goal margin, not a match I will bet on personally.

I have to agree mate, having watched both games on the opening night the odds are staggering, surely Venezuela couldnt have been that far below there normal level to be classed as favourites agaisnt a team that played Uruguay off the pitch.....only thing thats putting me off is Venezuela hammered Peru in the last qualifying game they played, but on the performances of a few day ago..Peru simply have to be backed at that price. Reagarding the other game I would expect Uruguay to win, Bolivia were up for it the other night but they played far better than they usually do and when Bolivia come agaisnt these sort of teams with a few quality names in away from home most of the time they get beat. Venezuela didnt have the capability to destroy the Bolivian defence whereas Uruguay should have more joy. ![]()

| I needed only one game watching Brasil to decide to LAY them to win the tournament. With their current lineup, team work and everything else they will find it very hard to even progress further and not to mention playing in the finals and winning! Argentina should be the one to win in the end. They have the best squad and they should prove it throughout the tournament. I will LAY Brasil to win Copa America, betfair @3.85. GL~ |
