So Mexico and Uruguay will have to play one other match in this tournament, a match for third place.
Both are dissapointed as they didn't reach the final so beeing third or fourth is not big deal to them imo and both won't have great desire to win it, although it would give them certain satisfaction, yes.
So I don't expect some great match as I don't see great motivation in both camps.
Somehow see this game going in direction of a draw in the end and things to be decided by penalties.
Mexico is favourite today yes cause they showed some great things till now but as I see them more dissapointed for not reaching the final then Uruguay, I think they won't show their best stuff today and I see a chance for Uruguay to try their luck on penalties once again, where I see them favs as GK of Mexico wasn't shining with Argentina definetely.
Boring draw after 90mins perhaps, 1:1 my guess.
Draw it is for me, betfair @3.45.
And small try on Uruguay to win on penalites, bwin @6.25. GL~

So the big final on Sunday! But we all know who will be the winer in the end...
Brasil in this squad just can't match up with Argentinians, but they can at least give a nice fight which is exactly what I expect.
Argentina will win this final, they are just great. Riquelme, Messi, Veron, who can stop these gods of soccer?
Still, I don't think it will be so easy for them. I think that even players of Argentina knows that with this Brasil they are huge favorites and exactly cause of that, and due to the reason that Brasil don't have nothing to loose cause pressure is not on them, I think Argentina will struggle a bit to clinch the win.
I see something like 2:1 in the end. To me it makes sense and I will risk something on Argentina -1EH (draw), Bet365 @3.7.
And Total goals: 3, eurobet @4. GL~

Brasil - Argentina

Everyone can say that Argentina will win this final,so Brasil wan't it too dont forget this...
We have see Argentina in game with Mexico that they have problem in first half to find goal position, just with a lucky position they find the first goal in 44 min. After this goal Mexico have opened the defens line and then was the game easly for Argentina. The same senario we see it before in Paraguay - Argentina...It will be not easy final for both team.

3rd place playoff tonight and these are typically tepid affairs. Always risky to bet against the tournament trend, but with both sides trying out new combinations and rusty unmotivated players taking a while to find their feet then I think decent value is Unders @ 6/5 (Stan James)

Bet ruined by an awful decision by the referee to award Mexico a penalty and send off their captain for a 'punch'. Not really been my tournament.

Argentina-Brazilie
Argentina has made a great tournament so far beating every team that it has faced. They are in great form and their strikers were brilliant in some situations. The scores until now reflect perfectly their good form.
Brazil came at this tournament with half of their best players leaving home Kaka and Ronaldinho. Big mistake, I have to say, because those two are their most valuable players and have the most experience in international games. Robinho is a great player but he is young and doesn't have much international experience.
So I think Argentina will win this game in regular time because they can afford to push their luck at the penalties lottery.

Argentina

Argentina have consistently shown they are the best team in this competition and with viirtually their best possible team, they have played at a higher level than anyone else. Their rivals, while they have a similar pedigree, have not shown the same fluency, especially as they have a few of their best players missing. Messi and Riquelme have been standout performers, and with no one on the Brazilian side who can match their class, Argentina should come out on top

Brazil - Argentina

Pick: Argentina to win Copa America
Odds: 1.51 @ 10Bet
Stake: 8/10

Argentina is playing great football on this Copa America. They are dominating in all of the games, they are the only team that won every game that they played and they showed why they were rates as number one favorites on this tournament.

Brazil had some good matches too, but mostly those matches were against weaker opponents. When they faced a bit stronger opponent they were having a lot of troubles (n the case when they played against Mexico and Uruguay). The absence of Kaka and Ronaldinho is feeling a lot, because this Brazil have loss all of its creativity and only player that worth mentioning is Robinho. All others are playing below their abilities.

I think that Messi, Riquelme, Tevez, Milito are too much offensive power for any team at the moment. Brazil will have even more problems in the midfield because Gilberto Silva will not play today. Last Copa America, Argentina has stronger team, similar like this year, but Brazil managed to beat them in the finals. This is the right time for revenge.

Brazil - Argentina

An absolute classic match this one is going to be. Albiceleste were beaten in penalty last time by the Brazllian in Peru 2004 Copa America. Now, it is payback time for the Albiceleste.

The way Argentina have been playing in this tournament can only be rated with a big fat 10/10 ! With Gilberto Silva missing, he will surely be missed in midfield. Argentina have Crespo back, however it seems Tevez will be able to keep his place from last time. Well I really can't do much of a write up, for those of you who have been watching Copa regularly I'm pretty sure I don't need to say much.

Brazillian is definetely not a pushover team. They have players with potential and world class quality, but form wise I really can't see how they will be able to stop Argentina. It will be huge gigantic surprise if Argentina didn't win this cup. As long as they can maintain their form, they should win this! Only way I see Brazil winning is by some dodgy refereeing, dumb luck or "some syndicate" action behind the background since the whole world seems to be lumping on the Albiceleste to win!!

Not often I'm biased like this :P but really I can't say anything more. High stakes for me !!!

Probable Lineups:

ARGENTINA
................................Roberto Abbondanzieri...............................
Javier Zanetti....Roberto Ayala.....Gabriel Milito........Ganriel Heinze
Juan Sebastián Verón.....Javier Mascherano.....Esteban Cambiasso
.................................Juan Roman Riquelme..............................
.......................Lionel Messi...............Carlos Tevez......................

BRAZIL
......................................Doni........ ................................
Maicon...........Juan...............Alex Costa................Gilberto
Elano............Mineiro...............Joshua..... ........Julio Baptist
.........................Robinho.............Vagne r Love..................

Betting Pick: Argentina @ 1.91 Coral [ 8/10 ]

Both teams played with similar systems, in a 4-3-3 formation, but in my opinion there some details that put the total favoritism to Argentina squad.

Let’s analyze first the defense:
Brazil in this tournament had some troubles when opponent’s team had quicker and skilled forwards. Nery Castllo and Diego Forlan prove that kind of forwards make damage to Juan and Alex - two slowest defenders. Tonight is secure that Messi and Tevez will be in starting lineup, these players with their pace are a threat to Brazil.

The two playmakers Riquelme and Robinho will face different levels of opposing force. Robinho will be marked by Mascherano, a very tough player. Meanwhile without Gilberto Silva, Brazil doesn’t have a defensive midfield that can guard Riquelme.

Elano, Mineiro and Josué will be the midfields trio and no one can assume the Gilberto’s Silva role.

Argentina in the other side has a fantastic trio: Mascherano, Veron and Cambiasso are not also good in defensive mission but also great to begin offensive transitions. Brazil with those 3 players I mention certainly will have a lot of problems to control the rhythm and ball possession.

Other important fact is that Brazil almost attacks for the middle, Robinho, Love and Julio Baptista doesn’t use the sides to create chances, always in the center.
This can be good for Argentina; Gabriel Heinze will join Milito and Ayala in the center, a role that he can perfectly perform.

With all I mentioned of course for me Argentina will win the game, so let’s analyze bookies.

For me Argentina odds to win had to be 1.70 maximum, but Bookies offered 1.80/1.90.

With this value is certainly a value bet.
  • Pick: -0.5 Argentina @ 1.89 Betfair

Good Luck

this bet looks crazy but it's a final and you never know and I certainly don't think the odds should be this high. Nice money back bonus aswell if Riquelme or Love score last.

Brazil 0-0 Argentina @ 11/1 (Paddy Power)
