Here are my bets.

Brazil/Peru - 2.30 at Blue SQ

Peru will be too strong for Bolivia, Peru have turned into a decent outfit in the last few years and Bolivia are just a woeful team on thier travels. Its a home game to open in front of a packed stadium and surely a win for Peru. Chile havnt brought thier strongest squad here, neither have Brazil but Brazil's 2nd sqaud is stronger than Chiles 1st team squad, Luis Fabiano and Adriano is probably the best strike force in the tournament and I expect Brazil to get off to a flyer here.

Uruguay to beat Mexico at 3.56 pinnicle

This is a great price IMO, The Uruguayan squad has had problems with its form recently but the Copa shud provide a welcome distraction from that and the pressure is being taken off them, they have had some problems with bonuses before the tournament but that all appears to be sorted now, Uruguay have taken a decent set of players here and this is a big price to beat Mexico.

Paraguay to beat Costa Rica 1.96 gamebookers

Costa Rica is in disaray at the moment, they have just appointed a new manager and there recent results have been appalling, they even drew with Cuba Im not Paraguays biggest fans but they do have a decent squad and although a very defensive side, they know they could do with winning this opening game and agaisnt Costa Rica I would expect them to get it.

Venezuela - Colombia (x) (1)

Quite like all the above but best value has got to be Venezuela not to lose to Colombia.

Ven. are a decent side nowadays, have had a better WC Qual. campaign than Col. so far and beat them 1-0 in their qual. meeting already. Their odds to win this match are silly imo. 8o

Colombia have only Murillo available from the team that won the last Copa and haven't brought their strongest team as players like Ypes, Cordoba, Vargas and Angel haven't been called up. Perea is also a doubt after signing for Atletico Madrid. Also, the coach is openly admitting that all his concentration is on the WC Quals.



Argentina - Ecuador (1) @ 1.50 B365.
Argentina have still got a srtong team depite the absences and should have have enough to see off Ecuador. Biesa needs a good showing in this tournament to fend off some of the pressure he's under at home.

Peru - Bolivia (1) 1.50 @ PP. Peru at home and aren't that bad. Bolivia, on the other hand, are woeful away from home.

Venez not to lose -

Argentina / Peru - double.

agree totally with Venezuela Raven.

A very good side that has a full strength squad and if im not mistaken that team beat Colombia's 1st eleven 1-0 earlier this year in the qualifiers.

errrr.....the tournament is in Peru

You lot have swayed me into a stab on Venezuala tonight.

They are 4:00 with betfair so 25pts on.
All the pundits were lauding them up on Sky before and as well as beating colombia in the world cup qualifiers they have the best record of all the teams in group A:

Venezuala W3 D1 L3
Peru W2 D3 L2
Columbia W2 D1 L4
Bolivia - not sure but they had the worst record.

3/1 looks decent value for a game on neutral territory and apparently Venezuala a fast emerging nation who didnt even score at the last Copa America.
