| Very silly of me not to follow the advice. Greek company prolly offered it as single plus higher price (because of local pro-Greek sentiment). Did n't even get to see the match coupons. The Greek team is a wasted force at this time - may be they will find something in the autumn but now they should be on the beaches drinking lemonade. Let me correct the previous one as the away draw was against Turkey in Istanbul. Greece did very well indeed there to hold the furiously attacking Turks but the following week at home against Ukraine in the crucial qualifier match they were a pitiful sight and went down 1-0. And Ukraine was nothing really special by WC standards.

| Congratu to everyone who won, and better luck next time for those whom lost. I only bet on Mexico win/ draw. Got a pretty good return on odds of 6.8 (My local bookmaker only offers fixed odds and +1 1/2 handicap). The +1 1/2 was only 1.48 (drop from highest odd 1.600 so decided to take a risk on mexico win/ draw :p. Should had wait later to bet as odd of Mexico winning shoot up to 7 plus as alot of ppl punting on draw. |

| Mexico are being quoted at 11/10 v Greece, and interestingly too at 11/2 (win only) in the main market. Surely with a 100% record (OK 2 games !!) but with the Greeks being totally out-of-form, this has to be a stand out bet ? The main market bet looks like value compared to the 7/4 BRA (yet to qualify!), 9/4 GER and 5/2 ARG. |

| thought on the japan bazil game? cant see japan eve competing here really Brazil will be out for a win for sure which they need to make sure they go thru in the group Japan havent been that impressive in recent times and havent played a team of brazils quality in a long time and got a result the team sheets read so differently..and Brazil have the upper hand no question Brazil usually come out pretty fired up especially after a loss to Mexico they will be raring to tonk Japan imo not seeing a heck of a lot of value bets wise thou ht/ft @ 1.65 perhaps mexico also ought to beat greece i reckon 2.15 is very generous for the Mexicans who beat brazil 1-0 as we know and also beat japan from a goal down 1-2 they arent on great goalscoring form over the last year or so but i'm sure they can knock a couple past a lacklustre greek side Some players complained of feeling drained after the Japan game. "We're all very tired, as we've just had games one after another over the last few weeks. That lies behind this negative result," said Angelos Basinas after the match. With this in mind, Rehhagel has hinted at some personnel changes and he will have to make at least one from Sunday's starting line-up with Georgios Karagounis picking up a suspension with his second yellow card of the tournament. from fifa website also Greece have injuries to two key defenders in zagorakis and seitoridis jump on Mehico my amigos 2.15 is too tempting not to go medium stakes on considering the circumstances Greece however wont want the unwanted tag of being the only team to go home with no points or goals scored..motivation enough? i dont know..ur only as good as your team..and Mexico have th better one n doubt Last edited by fgee; 21-06-2005 at 21:56. |

| A word of warning. Anyone tempted by Skybet's best priced 2.2 about Mexico to beat Greece, I wouldn't bother using them. Just tried to have £40 on it, to be told, the maximum stake is £20! How pathetic is that?? I've heard of small limits, but that's just ridiculous! They shouldn't bother pricing up these games, if there not prepared to even take a small single on it. I'm not one for promoting ladbrokes, but atleast you can stick £2000 on any televised game, before they have to get it authorised.

| That's not pathetic, it is becuase the bookie is a business and if you are going to recieve many and I mean many bets , you want them to be the lowest as possible, so you are not deniying the offer, just limit to an amount that in case Mexico win they will be able to pay to people betting. Of course maybe like some bookies do, it is better not to offers them, as my local bookie does with most Under- 20 games of today and tomorrow, I hate them. |

| I would be careful about the Mexico - Greece one. I have no doubt Mexico can beat tired and demotivated Greece and I guess they have the game to score against them. But do they really want to? What will they prefer? Secure 1st place and play Argentine in the semis or risk dropping to second (by resting players) to play Germany, who, despite being hosts and putting on a good performance, for my money are still way the easier opponent than Argentine. If I am not sure about the motivation of a team, I usually stay away from betting. Going with this logic, Brazil @ 1.65 looks tremendous value, as they simply have to win to be sure. |

| A simple question! If Mexico and Brazil or Japan have the same points who is the first. I thought Mexico is first anyway because they beat Brazil and also Japan. Is the goal dif. the decider or what? |

| Mexico will finish top regardless because the only teams that can possibly join them are Brazil or Japan, both of whom Mexico have beaten. As regards second place Brazil only need a draw to progress as they have a record equal to Japan's (H2H obviously from the draw !!) but their goal difference is better, having tonked Greece 3-0 to Japan's 1-0. Playing for a draw though would be a mug's game. I really fancy Mexico in the other match but do concede the 'nothing to play for' warning above. They may also field a reserve side to avoid bookings as Germany did with Ballack last night. |

| Paul, Sporting usually post the spreads for all televised matches, but nothing showing there at the moment. I have known Sporting to advertise a match time for C5, only to find it's not being broadcast. Looking forward to 'proper' matches(!) ![]()

| MEXICO To all disapointment Mexico draw with Greece, well this wasn't a surprise for me, I know I didn't post against Mexico being favorite against Greece. But I have my reasons, the option look really strong and I was wishing for it to happen. But I as mention, I have my reason, first Mexico is kinda an unestable team, altough it is true they have an really good unbeaten streak, but check this: Win 2-1 to USA in Mexico then go to the power Trinidad and Tobago and draw 2-2. Last America Cup, here is a reminder they beat for first time Argentina in official matches 0-1 with an impressive free kick goal, but then in knockout phase, lost 4-0 to Brazil. So I am really not motivated for the match against Argentina, everything can happen. Mexico when playing is a team that the same plays a mediocre, fair or perfect game, so I tend to be away from Mexico game, being here in Mexico, with the press speaking perfect of Mexico play form. I tend to favor Mexico, but knew from past experiences, that the same make a perfect first 45' minutes to Brazil (Golden Cup some years ago, in the 90's) and then draw or loss to Costa Rica. For the Semis I will not touch the games, I see a Brazil not playing good, and almost eliminated by Japan, but were able to classified, so anything can happen. And Mexico rest many players against Greece, and last time Mexico beat Argentina, but Riquelme is in Fire and Luciano Figueroa play August - December 2004 in Mexico. So I will stay out of this.
