| Some info about the games tomorrow, hopefully someone will fill out a little more: Group A: 1. Saudi Arabia 5 5 0 0 20 - 1 15 2. Japan 5 4 0 1 12 - 1 12 3. Yemen 5 1 0 4 3 - 12 3 4. India 5 0 0 5 1 - 22 0 Both Japan and Saudi Arabis is ready for the next round. Japan need to win with 4 goals to win the group against Saudi. Japan is big favorites with the bookies(1.60), around 5.00 on Saudi is a little much, but think is best to avoid betting here. Yemen is big favorites againt poor India, and is worth small stakes to odds around 1.50. Yemen won first game with 3-0. Group B: 1. Korea Republic 5 3 2 0 15 - 3 11 2. Iran 5 3 2 0 10 - 2 11 3. Syria 5 1 2 2 7 - 6 5 4. Chinese Taipei 5 0 0 5 0 - 21 0 Iran and South Korea is both ready for next round. Odds has fallen a little on Iran. Syria should win against Taipei, but odds are low. Group C: 1. Oman 5 4 0 1 14 - 3 12 2. UAE 5 3 1 1 8 - 4 10 3. Jordan 5 2 1 2 7 - 5 7 4. Pakistan 5 0 0 5 2 - 19 0 UAE needs one point against Pakistan to get to next round. Shouldn't have any problems by beating Pakistan home in last game. Odds are low. Jordan has to win against Oman to have a chance to get to next round. Odds around 2.80 on Jordan looks interesting against Oman that has nothing to play for. Group D: 1. Australia 4 3 0 1 7 - 3 9 2. Kuwait 3 1 1 1 2 - 2 4 3. Bahrain 3 0 1 2 1 - 5 1 Bahrain have to win with at least 2 goals home against Kuwait to get to nexy round. Think Bahrain have a good chance to win, but with two goals, i'm not that sure. Group E: 1. Iraq 5 3 1 1 11 - 7 10 2. China PR 5 3 1 1 6 - 2 10 3. Singapore 5 1 1 3 4 - 6 4 4. Palestine 5 1 1 3 3 - 9 4 Iraq and China will decided who will win the group, but both are ready for next round. Singapore and Palestina meets in the other game. Singapore is big favorites but it ain't that big difference between these two teams. Might consider 5.00 on Palestina. Group F: 1. Qatar 5 5 0 0 14 - 2 15 2. Uzbekistan 5 2 2 1 12 - 4 8 3. Hong Kong 5 1 2 2 3 - 7 5 4. Bangladesh 5 0 0 5 1 - 17 0 Hong Kong needs to win with around 10 goals against Bangladesh to have a chance to get to next round. Don't think that will happend. Uzbekistan needs 1 point to be sure, but i guess they are ready for next round even if they lose. Odds on Uzbekistan is on way down. Good luck! |

| Group A: Japan: With both sides having already booked their tickets to next year’s finals, Ivica Osim has not selected any of Japan’s overseas-based contingent for the last Group A match, which will take place in Sapporo. Former AFC youth player of the year Ryochi Maeda is one of four new players called up, there are also recalls for defenders Marcus Tulio Tanaka of Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka’s Akira Kaji, who missed last month’s qualifier in India due to injury. Missing out are the injured duo of Gamba forward Ryuji Bando and JEF United Chiba defender Yuki Mizumoto. Saudi Arabia, troup: Omar Al Ghamdi, Khaled Aziz, Mohamed Al Shlhoub, Yaser Al Qahtani, Ahmed Al Swuileh (all Al Hilal); Redha Tukar, Hamad Al Montashiri, Osama Al Harbi, Saleh Al Saqri, Ahmed Dokhi, Saud Khariri, Mohamed Ameen, Mustafa Malekah (all Al Ittihad); Yasser Al Musailim, Malik Moaz, Hussain Abdulghani, Mohamed Masaad (all Al Ahli); Mohamed Khojah, Hassan Maaz, Abdoh Autef (all Al Shabab); Osamah Hawsawi, Kamel Al Mosa, Essa Al Mahyani (all Al Wahda) and Bader Al Haqbani (Al Nasr). Star striker Yasser Al Qahtani has been called up for the Saudi Arabia squad that will face Japan in their final Group A qualifier, marking his return to the national team having been out since August after injuring his stomach muscles in the Kingdom’s 1-0 friendly win over the UAE. The Saudis, current Group A leaders, are holding a training camp in Riyadh before heading to Japan, who have also qualified to next year’s Asian Cup where they will be looking to win the tournament for the third consecutive time after victories in the final over hosts China in 2004 and Saudi Arabia four years earlier in Lebanon. Yemen: who won in the first encounter with India 3-0 in New Delhi, feature four new players in their squad in the shape of the defender Riyadh Al Nazili, goalkeeper Saud Al Sawadi, midfielder Najib Al Haddad and striker Abdulrazaq Al Ashbi, while head coach Ahmed Al Raei also welcomes back midfield duo Fadhl Al Aroumi and Nashwan Al Haggam, who are returning from injury. Last season’s Yemen league top scorer Fikri Al Hobaishi, who scored the second goal against India in New Delhi, has also been declared fit after the striker shook off a knock sustained while on club duty for Shaab Ibb. However it’s not all good news for Al Raei, whose side is looking to bounce back from their hammering at the hands of Gulf Cup rivals Saudi Arabia in the previous round of qualifiers. Defender Mohammed Saleh and midfielder Mohammed Al Salat are both suspended after picking up their second yellow cards of the campaign in the 5-0 loss to the Saudis back in October. Our team is ready for the match, which will also be good in preparing us for the forthcoming Gulf Cup in the UAE, said Al Raei. We want to win against India in order to make our fans happy after the big defeat against Saudi Arabia in the previous round. India: who are still looking for their first points of the campaign, travelled to Sana’a with their main agenda being the forthcoming Asian Games in Doha. Head coach Bobby Houghton dropped a number of players older than 23 including Sangram Mukherjee and Renedy Singh while Sanjeev Kumar Maria is injured and Climax Lawrence was overlooked as he was unable to attend the national team training camp in Dubai but could be recalled for the Asian games on account of Deepak Modal’s wedding. Mondal has been selected as one of India’s three overage players permissible at the Asian Games along with goalkeeper Sandip Nandy, who will be hoping not to add to his tally of 22 goals conceded when he lines up for his sixth consecutive Asian Cup qualifier on Wednesday and inspirational skipper Baichung Bhutia. Group B: Korea's troup: GK: Kim Yong-dae (Seongnam Chunma), Kim Young-gwang (Chunnam Dragons). Defenders: Jo Yong-hyung (FC Seoul), Jung In-hwan (Jeonbuk Motors), Park Ju-sung (Gwangju Sangmu), Yang Sang-min (Chunnam), Kim Chi-woo (Incheon United), Jang Hak-young (Seongnam), Kim Chi-gon (FC Seoul), Jo Won-hee (Suwon Bluewings), Jo Sung-hwan (Pohang Steelers), Oh Bum-seok (Pohang), Kim Jin-kyu ( Jubilo Iwata/JPN), Kim Dong-jin (Zenit St Petersburg, RUS). Midfield: Kwon Jip (Jeonbuk), Kim Du-hyun (Seongnam), Kim Nam-il (Suwon), Kim Jung-woo (Nagoya Grampus Eight/JPN), Lee Ho (Zenit St Petersburg/RUS). Attackers: Choi Sung-kuk (Ulsan Horang-i), Lee Chun-soo (Ulsan), Lee Jong-min (Ulsan), Lee Seung-hyun (Busan I’Park), Jung Jo-guk (Seoul), Yeom Ki-hoon (Jeonbuk), Kim Dong-hyun (Rubin Kazan/RUS). Korea Republic coach Pim Verbeek intends to use his team’s final Asian Cup 2007 qualifier against Iran as a training exercise for the Asian Games, naming a squad made up largely of players who will participate in the tournament for the November 15 match. It is a busy time for the national team and its players who are preparing not only for the Iran clash and the Asian Games but are also gearing up for the forthcoming Olympic qualifiers, the K-League championship play-offs and the Korean FA Cup semi-finals. It’s a difficult and complex situation but I have decided that the K-League takes precedence at the moment, Verbeek said in a Seoul press conference. “There are some very important games coming up. We will leave for Iran on November 13, hold a training session the following day and play the day after. The players that need to head back to Korea can do so, the rest of us will go to Dubai. Park Chu-yong, Baek Ji-hoon, Oh Jang-eun and Jeong Song-ryeong are in the Asian Games squad but will not go to Iran as they will be in action on November 21 in a friendly against Japan’s Olympic team. Not all of the 26 players named will make the trip to Iran. Jung In-hwan has been injured for a while and there may be others, said Verbeek. Korea Republic skipper Kim Nam-il could be ruled out of next week’s AFC Asian Cup 2007 qualifier against Iran after injuring his pelvis in Suwon Samsung Bluewings’ 2-0 win over Goyang Kookmin Bank in the semi-final of the Korea FA Cup on Wednesday. Korea Republic lead Group B on goal difference ahead of the Iranians, who have selected a strong squad for the November 15 meeting at the Azadi Stadium. SYRIA: Syria coach Fajr Ibrahim is indeed using the match against Chinese Taipei to prepare his side for the Asian Games but is still so confident of victory over the East Asian minnows that he only called his players up 48 hours before the match. Chinese Taipei will not cause a lot of problems for us and we’ll use this game to prepare a perfect squad to represent Syria at the Asian Games in Doha,” said Ibrahim. We will have a young squad for the match against Chinese Taipei, although there are some experienced players. We will go for a win although the match is not so important. Kuwait-based striker Firas Al Khatib wasn’t selected for the game although he will join the team in Doha after the match while first choice goalkeeper Radwan Al Azhar is still recovering from injury. Ibrahim has called seven players from league leaders Al Ittihad including Obada Al Sayed, Salah Shahrour and striker Abdulfatah Al Agha while goalkeepers Mosab Balhous and Adnan Al Hafez from AFC Champions League runners-up Al Karama are also in the squad. Despite that qualifying to next year’s finals is now out of reckoning, Al Karama midfielder Jihad Al Hussein said that the players are definitely taking the fixture seriously. The match is important for us as we want to win at home. We have good players but being drawn along side two big teams like Korea Republic and Iran certainly didn’t help us. We have to win the match and most importantly to we have to prepare well for our first match against Iraq in the Asian Games. Chinese Taipei: Arrived in Syria on the back of a humiliating 10-0 friendly defeat against Kuwait in Al Ain last week and they will be looking to avoid another heavy defeat in the qualifiers. Tokashi Imai’s side have conceded 21 goals in their five previous qualifiers – one less than India who currently have the worst defensive record in the campaign - although they did show a resilient side in their penultimate Group B fixture when they only lost 2-0 to the mighty Iran. Group C: JORDAN: Jordan coach Mahmoud El Gohary is looking for a grandstand finish to the Hashemite Kingdom’s 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualifying campaign in their final match against Oman on Wednesday even though they are out of the running for a place in next year’s continental finals. The China 2004 quarter-finalists will also be keen to avenge their 3-0 away defeat in Wattayah which seriously dented their chances of qualifying to the Asian Cup for only the second time in their history. Hopefully this game will be a turning point for the team to get back on track, said Al Gohary. It will be a good push for the players after the setback of not qualifying for the finals and we are eager to give a good display to return the joy for the fans. Referring to Jordan’s narrow 2-1 friendly defeat away to three-time Asian Cup winners Saudi Arabia, who have already qualified to next year’s continental clash, the Egyptian coach added: We had a good game against Saudi Arabia and we are looking for a positive end to the Asian Cup qualifiers before our next commitments. With Jordan aiming to end on a high, El Gohary has called-up a full strength squad. OMAN: Milan Macala, has made his selections with one eye on the forthcoming Asian Games and one eye on securing top spot in Group C. We’ll go for a win and we are looking to get the three points to improve our FIFA World ranking as well as to get a seeded spot in the draw for the Asian Cup finals next year, said Oman team manager Juma Al Kaabi. But we also wanted to take a squad which is eligible to take part in the Asian Games in Doha next month which is why we have left out some older players, he continued. Dropped are Hashem Saleh and Juma Al Wohaibi, while goalkeeper Ali Habsi, who is struggling to find first team action at English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers, has also not been selected. Group D: Bahrain: Defenders Abdullah Al Marzoqi and Hussein Baba is injuryed. Former skipper Talal Yousuf has returned from international exile and is in the squad as are a number of players from 28-time Bahrain champions Muharraq, who will be looking to bounce back after their recent defeat to Al Faisaly in the final of the AFC Cup. We are ready for the Kuwait game and I hope we get the result on Wednesday,” said Muharraq goalkeeper Ali Hassan, who kept a clean sheet in the previous fixture between the Gulf rivals. I’m really confident that my teammates are up to the task and will qualify from this group. To qualify for the Asian Cup finals for only the third time in their history after 1988 and the last tournament where they reached the semi-finals, Bahrain need to score on Wednesday putting a lot of pressure on the forwards including star striker Aala Hubail, joint top scorer at the 2004 Asian Cup in China. But the 24-year-old, who plies his trade in Qatar with Al Gharafa, was in confident mood ahead of the crucial match. The players’ morale is high and we are determined to win and qualify although we will need the support of everyone especially our fans who we hope will show up in big numbers on Wednesday. Kuwait: Jamal Mubarak is suspended and Ali Al Shamali and Fahad Awad is injuryed. Nohayer Al Shamari and Bader Al Mutwa is doubtful. Bahrain are a powerful team and I respect them a lot,” said the Romanian I saw their last match against Australia when they played with the Olympic side but I know their players very well especially that they have called some veteran players for the game. This match is between two big teams in the region and it will determine the winner of the second qualifying spot from the group. We’ll face a stubborn side who have talented players that are capable of winning the game but we also have talented players and we will be going out for the victory. Group E: KINA: GK: Li Leilei (Shandong Luneng), Yang Zhi (Beijing Guoan), Zhang Lu (Liaoning). Defenders: Ji Mingyi, Zhang Yaokun, Feng Xiaoting (all Dalian Shide), Sun Xiang (Shanghai Shenhua), Zhao Jialin (Changchun Yatai), Xu Yunlong (Beijing Guoan). Midfield: Zheng Zhi, Zhou Haibin (both Shandong Luneng), Zhao Xuri (Dalian Shide), Wang Dong (Changchun Yatai), Zao Junzhe, Xu Liang (both Liaoning), Cao Yang, Wu Weian (both Tianjin Teda), Jiang Kun (Shanghai United FC), Chen Tao (Shenyang Ginde), Zheng Bin (Wuhan Huanghelou). Attackers: Li Jinyu, Han Peng (both Shandong Luneng), Zhu Ting (Dalian Shide), Mao Jianqing, Gao Lin (both Shanghai Shenhua), Du Zhenyu (Changchun Yatai). Forsvarer Li Weifeng is suspended. Zhu Guanghu has named a strong squad for the China’s final 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Iraq on November 15, dismissing earlier reports that the Olympic team would be fielded as they 2004 runners-up had already booked their ticket to next year’s continental finals. Zhu insists that China are aiming to wrap up their Group E campaign in style, with a victory that will see them take top spot ahead of the Iraqis, who have also secured their passage to next year’s Asian Cup. The match is important because it is the last game for the national team and we have to conclude this year with a triumph,” said the former Shenzhen Jianlibao coach. We are definitely looking to win in the game against Iraq. SINGAPORE: Troup: GK: Lionel Lewis, Hassan Sunny, Fadhil Salim. Defenders: Precious Emuejeraye, Shaiful Esah, Hafiz Osman, Ismail Yunos, Jeremy Chiang, Baihakki Khaizan, Isa Halim, Daniel Bennett. Midfield: Hariss Harun, Itimi Dickson, Shi Jia Yi, Shahril Ishak, Muhammad Ridhuan, Tengku Mushadad, Kamal Nasir, Syed Thaha. Attackers: Khairul Amri, Fazrul Nawaz, Ashrin Shariff. Singapore will be giving their Asian Games squad a competitive run-out by fielding a squad composed primarily of U-23 players for their final Asian Cup Group E qualifier against Palestine. With his team out of the running for a spot in next year’s Asian Cup finals, Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic has decided to utilise the players that he plans to bring to Doha for the match at the Jalan Besar Stadium on November 15. Despite the youthful nature of the team, it does not lack international experience with 15 of the 22 players having already been capped at senior level. The squad also includes three overage players: goalkeeper Lionel Lewis, forward Ashrin Shariff and defender Daniel Bennett, who will skipper the team. We have a mix of experienced and young players in the squad and we can expect good results (in Doha) if we work hard and play to our potential,” said Avramovic. |
