I think a few people have said Guinea could surprise in this group, they might even end up winning it. Ghana as hosts must be respected but it appears that not everything is quite going there way at the moment and there are still a lot of question marks surrounding them. In all reality though they should still win the group, which comes down to Morocco and Guinea for 2nd position. The north African side have disappointed before and I’m not sure they deserve such strong favouritism over Guinea here. I’d say odds of 2.25 offer some decent value and is worth betting on. With players like Pascal Feindouno and Ismael Bangoura then will score goals and that’s a key point. I’d say they have every chance of making the quarters.
Great start for you too with the outright bets mate, nice one!

Well the Ivories are many people favourites to win this competition and they should go quite a long way. Group B is definitely hard one and Nigeria and very strong opponents, bit I feel that Ivory Coast can pip them to get top spot. Mali cant be underestimated either but you’d have to think that the strength of the big 2 will be too much. A lot will rest on the opening group game between Ivory Coast and Nigeria, as long as they don’t lose it then they should get top spot IMO. We all know a lot about the attacking potential of the elephants and they are sure to score a lot of goals, which could be important should they tie with Nigeria at the top of the group. I think that 2.20 is quite a big price to see them at the summit and I’ll take a bit of it with 3/10 stakes. It would also potentially be very advantageous to avoid Ghana in the quarter finals and with the hosts likely to top group A, it suddenly becomes important that the Ivory Coast get the job done.

So my 2nd outright comes in

However, it will all get sour now because Cameroon wont win their group and Senegal will soon be eliminated.

Still I'm confident that Cameroon can go a long way and also that Sammy Eto'o can get the golden boot

Ok I layed off my Cameroon outright bet so I'm now guaranteed +14 pts if Cameroon win the final and +10 pts if Egypt win it. I didn't make things exactly equal because I still feel as if Cameroon can lift the trophy, and of course with them being my initial selection, I'd better keep some faith.

The Eto'o top goalscorer bet is a bit more complicated. I layed him off to guarantee me +10 if if wasn't outright or joint top scorer. I'll gain +16 if he does end outright on his own.

Then with the complicated DH rules I'd be +7pts if he shared the outright with one other person and just +5pts if 3 people shared top spot.

So the worst result for me would be for Hosni, Zaki and Eto'o all the be joint top on say 5 or 6 goals each.

Still it's pleasing to go into the final knowing that I can't possibly lose anything and can only gain some profit

My pick for today in the African Nations Cup final:

Cameroon-Egypt:
Cameroon had 6 overs in their last 10 and scored in 8 of their last 10 games.
Egypt had 7 overs in their last 10 and scored in 9 of their last 10 games.
Not much of defensive worries and tactics in African Football so I see good value in the over 2.5 bet at this price (2.21).
My pick: >2.5;

Good luck!
