The bare result suggests Sugitani found this track too quick after his Southwell defeat of the winner, but that was far from the case as he travelled well, stuck out wide and lost anychance in being forced widest around the home bend as the winner nipped through against the rail. He closed to the line, and under a more enterprising ride, would have gone close, suggesting he can soon get back to winning ways even on Polytrack.
