Sitten - Basel
Missing: Chihab, Meoli; Ba, Carignano, Dzombic, Eduardo, Smiljanic
Doubtful: Carlitos; -

Sion conceded defeat last week at YB, where the home team was the better team, even though Sion had very good attacks, too. A week earlier, St. Gallen was trashed 4-0 in only 45 minutes on Sion's home ground Tourbillon.
Sion has proven to be a good team that can play a good role, right behind the top 4 (Zurich, GC, YB, Basel). At home, they will be even stronger, around 14'000 are expected to turn up today. Their offense is awesome, with striker Kuljic at already 6 goals. Missing Chihab is a big blow to their defensive midfield and defense is definately the weak point.

Basel has had a very difficult start to the season. Many players were lost this summer and the new team has to be rebuilt first. Some players are not in form after the World Cup and their are important players missing for injury. Midfielder Ba is banned this week, which is a blow for Basel, as he cannot be replaced at the moment in defensive midfield.
Basel had a very good 4-1 win against Thun last weekend, but I would not read too much into that yet, as Thun are really a weak team. But confidence is higher again and Basel will play with 2 attackers to put pressure on Sion (they showed to be able to do this very well in last match).

Basel has still the biggest potential in SL, but they are not yet consistent. At the moment, both teams (including home team advantage) should be even, question remains what Basel will show today. Because of that uncertainty, I will keep away from this match.

great win for Sion - they are the Honka of the Swiss top league!

for YBB, only seconds to play surely! YBB took the lead with 9 men!! Reds on both reds in first half!!

well, referree and right defender Zanni from Basel made the difference. Sion keeps getting better results than they play.
Not to say they were bad, but they did not really deserve a win here, Basel was at least equal until decimated by an incapable and one-sided referee.

Decent bounce-back for me, with close wins for YB and Delemont, easing yesterday's pain a bit.

Fc Thun

Injuries: Silvan Aegerter, Mario Schönenberger and Marco Hämmerli

FC St.Gallen

Injuries: Juan Pablo Garat and Calla(long time)

Thun is weaker than last years and i think to stay in league will be the right target for them.

For me X2 6/10

Hi Petas

thx for the input. I guess your punt is quite safe, St. Gallen definately the stronger team. Only things is, they have not convinced as of yet away from home and are missing Calla and Gelabert in midfield.

Funny one is the suspended player for Thun: Ba was suspended this weekend, but plays for Basel

Thun - St. Gallen (1:5, 5:1, 0:1, 3:1)
Missing: -; Gelabert, Callà

Thun comes from a hard defeat at Basel, where they basically were beaten by 3 goals in 5 minutes. They did not show anything positive, even with 10 man. Why Deumi is not suspended is a mystery to me, as his kick to Petric's groin was certainly worth around 5 matches suspension.
Thun are nowhere near the team they have been beginning of last season. Their results are weak and they don't click as a team.
Attack is really weak, Leandro and Rama absolutely not convincing. Only win was against Schaffhausen at home.

St. Gallen has beaten Basel and Zurich at home, plus a 0-0 against GC. Away, they have been less impressive with a 1-1 at Schaffhausen and 0-4 in Sion. They will be missing Gelabert today, which further weakens them.
St. Gallen are definately the better team here, with decent defence and a great attack.

In this match, one can only favour St. Gallen, Thun are just too weak at the moment for me to bet on. Weakend midfield and not convincing matches so far away from hope make me skeptical.

No bet.
