Xamax - GC

Xamax 10th, but still with a chance to secure 1st league, but points are needed today, despite the chance of playing ambitiounless Thun in the last match.
Match on Wednesday in St. Gallen was not too bad and Xamax had chances themselves. Today they will miss a lot of players, most notably Mangane, Lubamba and Rey.
GC played a terrible match against YB, but were the better team and won. They are still fighting for 3rd place. Almost full squad available, except for Stepanovs and maybe Eduardo.

GC should win this one, but have not convinced me lately and Xamax might just want this more. A draw might be quite possible, I am a bit undecided on this.

Aarau - St. Gallen
Aarau changed the manager before last match, Schönenberger is a good motivator. They played a better match on Wednesday, going in front 1-0 after missing quite some chances, but then got nervous and conceded the equaliser.
Motivation is high again, attacker Bieli who has a shoulder luxation wants to play today as well. Crucial match today, as the last match is against GC away.
St. Gallen has not been great all year, found some more form under new manager Fringer. The win against Xamax on Wednesday was enough to secure their place in the Super League, so motivation will probably have dropped, but so will have the pressure.

I am going here with the team who have more to play for and I do think that Schönenberger will find some extra motivation for Aarau. Once again the AH -0.5 gives more money than the 1, so I am going for that.

4/10 Aarau AH -0.5 @1.925 (Bet365)

YB - Thun

YB have received a nice gift from Xamax, as they beat GC today. So YB is only trailing one point with 2 more matches more to play than GC.
YB had a nice run after loosing the Cup final, but could not create a lot of chance in a very defensive match against GC on Wednesday.
There is again some turmoil, as Yakin complained that they were playing to defensively and manager Roth now will probably leave him on the bench, stating that he was not fit enough for two matches in 3 days.

Thun's season is basically finished, they have nothing left to play for. Nevertheless manager Peischl was very harsh after the loss at Basel and Thun showed a good reaction on Wednesday against Zurich, despite loosing. This match is a derby, as both come from the same province, which may add a bit more spice for Thun.

YB has more motivation and is slightly the better team, plus some home advantage. OTOH, YB struggles to make the play, they prefer a defensive style and going for the counter attack (as does Thun). As such, YB might find it difficult to create many chances (never over 2 goals in all of their last home matches). I am leaving this one, as YB is just not really convincing at home and the character of the team in important matches has not been too good. OTOH, I don't like to put any money on a team that has nothing to play for (Thun).

No bet.
