i would go for Barca against Real on wed Real have the league wrapped up and frank rijkaard is trying to keep on to his job , there 6-0 demolition of valencia is proof of this

I'm taking over 2.5 (@1.79 Pinnacle) in this game. Barcelona needs the points to fight for 2nd place and they showed on Sunday that Messi, Henry and Bojan can score. Real will be celebrating the championship and I think they will be focussed in attacking than defending.

Hi i am mafras1 newbie punter.
I can't agree on what you gise or saying about the real-barca game.
If you look at the history of those 2 rivals it really doesn't matter who is on top .This is a big game for both teams and its all about who wins.And I personally don't think that madrid will let barca win at home just because they are allready champions.The fans from Madrid won't like that either.
So I am giving real the best chances here.There in a better form then barca right now.real in the last 4 games 4-0-0 and barca 1-2-0.
I think real straight win.even without canavaro

The Barcelona board of directors, including Joan Laporta and Txiki Begiristain, held a meeting on Monday to decide on a replacement for Frank Rijkaard, who is likely to depart at the end of the season.
According to Marca, the directors have decided to appoint former midfielder Josep Guardiola. Barcelona will announce the move on May 19th, following the final Liga game, when Rijkaard is also expected to bid farewell.

I agree mafras1,

Barcelona might very well win the game as they don't have a team but surely have plenty of World class players that could win it by themselves...but there's a huge rivalry here and the place should be packed with Real fans looking at beating Barça and Real will surely want to win it...

By the way mafras1, are you by any chance from Mafra (Portugal)?

Soccer Re: Spain - Primera Division (7-8 May 08)

Well, I just bet on games in which I think I have an edge (and that's hard enough as it is... ) so I'll stay away from the Real Madrid-Barcelona game (will not bet on it just because it is a BIG game...as I don't see "value" in the hundreds of bets being offered for that game).

Recreativo Huelva-Villareal
Recreativo still trying to avoid relegation and has a 3-2-1 record in their last 6 home games with the only defeat (2-3) coming in the game against Real Madrid.
Villareal is in 2nd place which they will fight to keep (Barcelona is in 3rd 4 points behind) as it gives them direct access to the Champions League while 3rd place has to play the CL qualifying rounds.
Villareal also has a strange 10-0-7 away record in the league with no draws out of 17 games.
I expect a tight game and I'm betting they'll have their 1st away draw of the season.
My pick: draw;

Getafe-Almeria
Simple analysis here.
Getafe has a league 13 over and 22 unders while Almeria has 10 overs and 25 unders in the league.
Last 5 meetings between these teams have gone under the total.
My pick: <2.5;

Good luck!

isn't Eto out for barca? i can not back barcelona win, maybe handicap, but my gut is telling me real will win and celebrate the great domestic season in style. barca beat valencia at home 6-0, so what? i watched game, valencia quit after 10minutes and were just going t hrough the motions. keep in mind valencia is on the fringe of relegation. then look at all of barcelona's other recent games. zero goals in 5 matches i believe it is. and then on top of it all, look at how barca have played on the road this season? everyone has had they're go at them when barca come to to town, and now Eto is not playing? i am just deciding on which of the following to bet:

Real, Over 2.5, or no play.

and someone mentioned Rijk. might be trying to save his job. he has already told people he will not be back at barcelona next season. he willprobably resign immediatly rather than told he is let go from the board. no shame in what he's accomplished in his tenure there anyhow. still looking at the rest of the card for today, GL all!

Villareal
Villareal have won their last 3 games as they come into some good form especially with Barcelona breathing down their necks fof that second spot and automatic qualification for the Champions League next season. Huelva are in 18th position and in relegaton trouble. They have lost 2 of their last 3 games, and are struggling after their 3-0 loss to Athletico Madrid last weekend. Villareal should win

Deportivo -1.5
Deportivo have been in great form where they have won their last 5 games at home as well as the last 7 of 10 games. They are still an outside chance of getting a european spot for next year so they still have plenty to play for. They won their last 3 home games by 2+ goal margins.
Levante are in 20th position and resigned to the second division. They have lost 4 of their last 5 games as they have only scored 9 and conceded 35 in their 17 away games. They have players out injured and they nealry went on strike because of wages haven't been paid. With this kind of climate in the dressing room look to Deportivo to win this easily.

2 faults in your statement.

First....Rijkaard's job is all but done, if you follow Barca closely you will already know that Pep Guardiola is the main candidate for the job.

Second....the demolition of Valencia was proof of nothing. Valencia didn't even bother playing, their body language singled how much they didn't even care playing Barca. The Catalans could of won by a larger scoreline simply because Valencia gave that game to them.

Barca in disarray, Madrid will play an open relaxed game now the pressure is off, Barca need a win, could see some goals,

over 2.5 goals.
