I think I'll keep betting against Nacional. They look pretty indifferent these days, and they are in real free fall.

I'll have to take a closer look on this one.

Penafiel are 1.99 +0.5,+1.0 with betdaq
which is pretty low risk given the relative form that they and Boavista have shown heading into this match and also Boavista' low scoring record.
which would suggest that if they do win at Penafiel it will probrably be by one goal!

Boavista won all 4 of their 4 away wins in a row - now they seem to have fallen back into their early season away form!

Penafiel' home record after 8 matches read 1-0-7 !!!! and they still prop the rest of the league up!
however their last 6 matches at home read 1-4-1 ! which is quite a turn-around IMO!

it was a draw last time these two met here and though Penafiel have had 5 of their 14 homes finish with >2.5gls. Boavista have had just 1! in the same number of aways!

365 offer a pretty decent DNB return and of course the lay of favourites Boavista is a fair option aswell-IMO!

stats from H2Hstats my thanks to them

and any thoughts or info is more than welcome!

Good spot, Boavista's recent form does look bad. However with Penafiel only getting 10 points from 14 home games this season you still got to be careful! Good value though.

V. Setubal have a 2-0-5 record in last 7 at home and although Braga are by far better at home than away they must be worth a few coppers here!

V.Setubal home 7-0-7 F13,A11
Sp.Braga away 4-4-6 F8,A10

Setubal have won seven 1-0 and lost eight 1-0 in total this season!

Braga haven't even managed to score in 8 of 14 away

but the H2H's of 2-3-2 and 4-5-6 in total read well for 4th place Braga

I supose the 12 in 14 <2.5gls for both teams, home and away respectively, should be no surprise either given these two' scoring and defensive records!

CS 0-1 under2.5 and a few other punts would seem to suggest themselves here-IMO!

any thoughts or info welcome!

thanks a&f and welcome to the PL

you're right about the poor point return for Penafiel of course - but in their last 6 it's been a different matter! and though it probrably wont last that offer at betdaq even allows them to lose by a goal at little risk!

I dont know what the hell men from Nacional think they're doing these days, but they look completely unmotivated and indifferent to continue this season. They had great start really, but their results in last couple of weeks are real disgrace. They have not won in last 6 rounds, and in that period they faced some really poor opposition (1-1 vs Rio Ave at home, the same vs Guimaraes, home defeat to Amadora, 1-3 at Naval). Their president was really pissed off with their recent results, but it's not that easy to turn things up after so awful streak.

Belenenses on the other hand are interested to take anything they can to secure first league football next season. In last couple of weeks they managed few really great results (wins vs Braga and Boavista) and their situation is much better than month ago, and by all means they are in better shape than Nacional are at the moment.

Another defeat for Nacional would be maybe too much, but surely not impossible. Belenenses will go there for a draw I think, but I really wouldnt exclude another shocking defeat of Nacional here, as they are already making plans for next season.

Belenenses not to lose this one looks like OK bet to me (~1.8).

Nacional not better value with betfair Djordje? back @2.08 so lay shouldn't be too far off!

1-4-2 last 7 home
3-2-2 last 7 away

Belenenses really are making a fist of it- like so many near the basement!

excellent suggestion Djordje!

1-1 seems very likely in the Nacional game to me also-even in crappy form they've still scored in every home game since Porto' visit 23/10/05

Now then...i'll have first stab at the Sporting vs Porto game!!

We should be in for a treat tonight, 2 points separate these 2 teams at the top of the table. If porto win they go 5 points clear and will be firm favourites for the title this year. However, If Sporting take all 3 points they will narrowly lead by a single point, so this is a huge match.

Anyway...

Sporting have won their last 8 matches in the league, not conceding in any of them, a pretty impressive record. Infact in their last 15 matches Sporting have only dropped 2 points. These team had a chance to feel each other out in the cup final back on 22nd march, a game which ended 0-0 in 90 minutes, 1-1 after extra time, and porto took it on pens. Both teams have similar squads, porto are not the same team as in recent years. In this fixture last year Sporting won 2-0 and IMO i think they will get another result here tonight. They are on better form, have a lot of confidence in their camp and are playing great football.

Sporting @ 2.38 (sportingodds) 5/10
Under 2.5 goals @ 1.50 (sportingodds) 8/10

Default Peniafel - Boavista

BOAVISTA wants only the win in this match to take head from NATIONAL.

Next match at home but her opponent is BENFICA. Very difficult match.

So i believe she can take the win now against weakly opponent.

STAKE FROM ME AT THIS MATCH 8/10 AWAYWIN.

Boavista is chasing spot on the table that brings UEFA Cup matches next season. Now they are playing against the poorest team in the league, Penafiel. Penafiel are playing very bad physical football with making a lot of fouls and receiving many yellow and red cards in their matches. Boavista has tough schedule in the next weeks playing against Benfica and Porto in their next 4 matches and this is great opportunity to take some points in eyes of that matches.

Penafiel will relegate for sure and get back in the place they belong. They are not first league material for sure. They are 1-3-6 in their last 10 matches, scoring 8 and conceding 22 in that matches.

Boavista is only under the big trio according to the form in the last 10 matches. They took 18 points in the last 10 matches but they only managed to score 10 and to concede only 5 goals. But I think that even reserve team of Boavista will be too much for poor Penafiel.

These teams meet eachother four times in recent history and Boavista won three of that four with only one draw, last season’s one at Penafiel 1:1. In first match this season Boavista won 2:1 at home and I believe that they will take all three points tonight too.

well I hope no-one took my advice on those odds last thursday!

Penafiel double chance 2.2@spo-odds now on offer and the odds for the away win are now at only 1.67 with Betfair!

I've just about given up trying to predict results with the stats! particularly in Europe!
[not that there's been any suggestion of wrong doing in Portugal!]

Good luck all!
