Bodø/Glimt v Tromsø 2.30 3.35 2.65 Brann Bergen v Ham Kam 1.70 3.40 4.35 Fredrikstad v Sogndal 2.30 3.35 2.65 Lyn v Stabaek IF 1.90 3.35 3.50 Rosenborg v Molde 1.40 4.20 6.30 Viking Stavanger v Odd Grenland 2.35 3.20 2.70 Lillestrøm v Vålerenga 2.00 3.25 3.30 All games played 16. may Now a couple of things to be said for 16. may games in Norway. It's officially summer, (Norwegians go apeshit during the summer), the following day, 17. may is the constitutional day. Thats a pretty big deal here in Norway and we celebrate it religiously. This means all the teams will want to give it their best shot to give the fans a nice present for 17. may. 16. may football is the day with the best attendance of fans during the season. This means predicting will be harder. Expect more draws. Picks to follow in next post. All prices are from Gamebookers. EDIT: Forgot to mention there is a newspaper strike in Norway now, so I hope my info on the teams is up to date.

Pick 1: Bodø/Glimt v Tromsø 2.30 3.35 2.65 This is the so called "derby" of north Norway. The 2 dominating teams from the north meet at Bodø/Glimt's Aspmyra. There is no doubt that Tromsø is flying high while Bodø/Glimt has had a more troubled start of the season. Allthough the last game B/G won 2-5 away over Stabaek. Tromsø will be fired up from beating Rosenborg and will want to hold on to their league lead. Tromsø have decent record on Aspmyra and the away victory here looks good considering the odds. As mentioned you might want to do X2 since its the 16. may game. (X2 sells at 1.48 at gamebookers) Pick 2: Rosenborg v Molde 1.40 4.20 6.30 This game will be a test of Rosenborg, as stated earlier, the best team of the eliteserie and after the "shock" defeat last round to Tromsø the pressure is mounting. Rosenborg have the players, the resources, the fans, the home advantage and usually win their 16. may games. They will be expected to win this one to make up for their sidestep last round. Molde havent managed to bring out the potential of the team and as allways, they really want to challenge Rosenborg for the title and they allways come one short. Its not the best odds at home but it should be a safe one. (May be worth having a draw cover just for the odds, but I doubt it.) Pick 3: Viking Stavanger v Odd Grenland 2.35 3.20 2.70 Vikings time to wake up and smell the coffee. They came close to losing last match against Lillestrøm and if they play anything like the game against Vålerenga or Lillestrøm, Odd will skin them alive. Odd plays well organized offensive football with many chances and many shots on goal. Odd's Oliver Occean scored last game and is proving to be one of the best buys this season so far. Odd hammered in 5 goals last match against a team thats higher placed then Viking. They have a goaldif. of 10-3 against Vikings 2-6. Yes I have defended Viking a long time on their new stadium. That ends now I think. Odd will be too much for them. Odd ticks like a finaly tuned clockwork. The Viking Administration will have to reevaluate their speaches about "ambitions of a top team" after this one. This will be the game they cant hide from. Cause regarding Viking right now, the question is if they will lose a homegame before they win one, I think this is the lose for them. But no guarantees. 16. may anything might happen, a bit dangerous having two awaygames maybe but this is what I will be playing.

Oh, thanks Orome, I was thinking to start this thread yesterday but was too tired to try. Havent checked the team news yet, but concerning the top division, I am so sure that Odd will win this time that I even put it as my initial bet in the new SWT Challenge I like the odds on Ham Kam not to lose away at Brann. Its a risky bet, especially that Brann have very aggressive supporters, and its never easy to play there. It can be a big problem for newcomers that are not so used to that. But Ham Kam were very good this season, and Brann are again at the beginning of a bleak season...If things start going wrong, the full stadium might be the worst nightmare for Brann. Lyn to win at home to Stabaek. Just looking at the table, it looks as Lyn are getting better, while Stabek go the opposite way. Home advantage on a special day should be enough for Lyn. Still, can be covered with a draw. Now a little about the First division. Three away favs, so it is a little risky, but Aalesund and Start are set to continue their good form, and win their away games, while Kongsvinger, although not as good as their position on the table shows (they played mostly against lower-quality teams by now), should win at the worst team of the league, Tromsdalen. Could be covered with draw though, not sure how those long trips affect Kongsvinger players Good luck

I agree with you Snowman, but I never bet against Brann at home unless there is a special occasion. Brann are a hard lot to beat home. Ham-Kam being several times dubbed as the favorites for relegation have so far not lost. In my opinion their first loss is just around the corner. But yes I agree with Odd. Odd scores 2.5+ goles during 1 match and Viking scores 0.33. I think Viking will lose before winning at the new stadium. For the risky people out there I would go for a straight draw between Lillestrøm and Vålerenga. As far back as I can remember these teams allways draw, there is a lot of pride involved.

Interesting to read your views here. I don't think Ham-Kam is a good bet, neither to win nor not to lose. I have already bet on a home win here, and after the drugs scandal involving Ham-Kam striker Fjeldstad, I think the players minds are not as concentrated on winning as they should be. Add to that that Ham-Kam will be picking up there first loss shortly regardless the opposition, and I think we have a nice home win here. I also think that Tromsø is a risky bet this week. It is a local derby, and Bodø/Glimt will do what they can to win. Remember, they did a good match against Stabæk last week, scoring 5 goals. To me, this match is a "no bet". I reckon Rosenborg will be the banker of the week. To quote the Molde coach: "They will use the match against us for revenge". Unless Molde get a great start to the match, Rosenborg will thrust through to victory. Odd might be a good bet, but I would stay away from Kongsvinger. A look at Tromsdalens home results should be enough to prove my point: TUIL v Sandefjord 1-2 TUIL v Start 0-1 Both narrow wins, against Start even a doubtful penalty. Let's hope for a lot of beer money this weekend! ![]()

Well, it turned out that Viking did another miraculous save in the last ten minuets (are they fixing games or what? ), you were all right concernig Ham Kam, thanks for warnbing, while I had a really nice shot with Kongsvinger (I think it was their first victory against Tromsdalen after quite a time). the damned Aalesund, that couldnt win despite playing against 10 Hoedd players for more than 60 minutes prevented me, though, from makin rela big money. It looks that RBK is really deep down, just reminding you of a rule that the teams in bad series shoulds be avoided, and Sandefjord have shown much more discipline than expected. Still, wasn't such a bad weekend. :smokin
