Viking v Start is a no bet match for me and could go either way. I'll predict a 1-1 scoreline

Norway, Tippeligaen 2006

bad beginning to 2006 for both sides but undoubtably the better football has been played by the home side. Already a popular bet on the net I see and I urge people to not get carried away here as Start will sneak points even though confidence is low and they miss a few important players.

Viking played very well v Fredrikstad and should have won the game whilst being quite unlucky v a very tough Lillestrøm, my money was on Lillestrøm that day and it was a most crazy defending error with a handball on the line that caused Robert Koren to score from the spot for Lillestrøm and Fredric Lundqvist to be shown the red card. This made the scores 1-1 after Viking had taken an early lead.

Start have been beaten convincingly by RBK despite a brave and spirited first 20mins, they were toothless v Lyn and defeated to Brann at home (Brann are not as strong as other season and always poor away)

Home win looks on the cards but due to the popularity of this bet cover with 1-1 or keep stakes small.

Viking without new injury issues, Start have 5 or 6 first team players out and will name the exact side that lost v Brann last round.

Lyn have played some pretty smooth football this season I must say, beating Vålerenga and Molde and taking a point from battling Start away in Kristiansand and they look too strong for Stabæk by a good margin. Only a like a fire power might cause an issue but this game could be settled by 1 goal.

Stabæk have not impressed at all, no attacking play and a limited squad surely destined for relegation dog fight, two draws at home v two of the weakest sides in the league with Odd missing key players too whilst the win at Tromsø was a fluke really or at least more because Tromsø could not take chances.

Home win IMO.

not much to say here, RBK have continued to play lovely attacking football and in all honest look a class above the majority of the league, more so having settled the defence a little and being less war torn with injury this year has helped also. They are still prone to slack defending at times as they play open and aggressive but I see nothing in Molde to fear.

They will win I am almost sure of this, saying goodbye to the poor H2H record that curse them during very unsuccessful periods in the clubs history, prior to the home defeats in 04/05 they had a 99% record over Molde home and away and they will expect to get that level of dominance back this year. Only silly mistakes or two can end this game I think.

Odds are poor considering Molde won here the last two meetings but for a little value I will risk a over the top stakes on the AH and should feel safe to at least lose nothing!

Will be watching the game and hopefully and enjoyable one it will be.

the H2H is mixed between these two sides but watching bits of Ham-Kam play did not impress much, they are flat and basic middle to lower table side with much long ball and little flair whilst for Tromsø I was actually quite please with the play despite losing for me v Stabæk 0-1. it was only the final ball and finish that was missing but you sensed if the game went on for another 90mins they could win.

Still prone to the odds bit of long ball play this was mixed up with some decent passing and wide play, an away trip to Tromsø is never easy and I will just take above evens on a home win.

Nice write ups Galea, although unfortunately already 1 loser thanks to Start's 90th minute winner

Personally I have 4 bets today in Norway and I hope I shall be just as successful as in last 2 weeks.

Fredrikstad v Lillestrom
Well Fredrikstad played well in their first 2 games but were poor as they lost 3-1 away to Ham Kam. Lillestrom have started strongly this season and are unbeaten so far. They are more stronger at home and aren’t the best of travellers but this isn’t much of a journey. They should be able to get the business done but the -0.25 AH is a nice little cover just in case

Bet
Lillestorm -0.25 AH 1.87 Betdaq 4/10

Lyn v Stabeak
Lyn have started off really solidly and sit top of the table on 7 points. They look to be in the championship shake up at the moment and they must look to keep their good run going. They cant afford to waste this game against Stabeak who have started poorly despite being unbeaten. Their win away to Tromso was a fluke and they are probably going to be punished here. I go for the straight win because Lyn often win by 1 goal margins only.

Bet
Lyn 1.90 Centrebet 3/10

Rosenborg v Molde
Surely RBK will show their class again today. They hammered Start 3-0 in their opening ligue match and Molde could also be inflicted severely. The visitors haven’t been playing too badly but RBK’s class should be able to come through. I hate backing short odds so of course I will go for the AH. Ideally id like a -1 but instead I’m forced to go with the -1.25. Hopefully RBK can deliver the goods…………

Bet
RBK -1.25 AH 2.06 Betdaq 3/10

Brann v Valerenga
Brann have started the season in a solid way and are still unbeaten. Here at home I fancy them to beat Valerenga today. The Oslo team just haven’t really fired yet and are winless so far. They could easily claim a point here but on the level ball AH, Brann are surely worth taking. Home advantage might be crucial in this encounter.

Bet
Brann (0) AH 1.80 Bet365 3/10

Moss @3.0 to beat Aalesund should be a good bet. According to reports they were better side against Tromsdalen during first half, but were beaten on counterattacks and lost at the end 2-4.

Tromsdalen @3.5-4.0 on the other hand should be full of confidence after win in mentioned match against Moss, and they should be able to take something from Sparta Sarpsborg, who could miss up to 5 regular starters today.

Lyn Oslo lead 1-0 through very strange og, happy however they come.

Those on RBK not watching do not need to panic, they are a class above and minus a few defending issues.....very suspect penalty for Molde.

Galea, what is your view on the Brann game? Betfair have them in-running later and I fancy a little dip at something or other.

Perhaps a homewin?

Brann not so strong this season but normally solid at home, maybe home win but Vålerenga although not starting too good are dangerous. Maybe see how the game goes for 45mins and take some better odds at HT.

I sense a draw but not betting myself...

Lyn are on my blacklist HT 1-1 and no chance here...
