LATEST TRANSFERS

Brest have signed 2 new youngsters - Ayite from Bordeaux (Defender left) and Ferradj from Auxerre (Midfielder centre)

Carl Medjani (Defender / Midfielder centre) has moved on loan from Lorient to Ajaccio

Rodrigo (Key Ajaccio defensive midfielder) has moved on loan to Strasbourg, no doubt with a potential permanent move in the future

Psaume (Striker) has moved on loan from Toulouse to Boulogne. Last season he was on loan at Nimes in the national division and scored 4 goals in 22 appearances. I dont expect him to do too much

Lafon and Taouil have both left Montpellier on free transfers and are currently without a team

Ali Samir Yachir (Left / right winger / striker) has moved on loan from Strasbourg to Reims

Larbi (Right winger / Striker) has moved from Nice to Ajaccio

LIGUE 2 START COULD BE POSTPONED !

The LFP refused Angers entry into ligue 2. Basically the reason is because Angers didnt opt for the protection of a professional club last season and became Semi Pro. According to some rules, a team is not eligable to become professional again at least 2 years after dropping that status. Despite support from the CNOSF, the LFP still refused Angers their place in ligue 2.

Angers will now go before the 'Le Tribunal Administratif' which will decide their fate. However this could take some time and the estimation for the final decision is Wednesday or Thursday.

End of the day I think the LFP is being a bit unreasonable here and many people beleive that special circumstances apply to Angers and that they should be allowed to play in ligue 2 this season

a petition has been set up by them. Click the link below and sign it, then confirm the link from an email that is sent back. I have some friends in Angers and it this means a lot to them, so I would be appreciated if you could sign. All you need do is put your surname (Nom), first name (Prenom), and Town you live in (Ville), and of course your email address (Mail)

http://petition.thescoismagic.com/php/appel.php

you never know it might do something. I would like to see them in liguie 2 this year, not least because I think there is the potential for money to be made on them

Ligue 2 start date could be postponed a week because of this mess

17. Libourne

19. Gueugnon
20. Boulogne

Final table here http://www.lfp.fr/ligue2/classement.asp

Generally I predicted fairly well, Angers and Niort actually ended up exactly where I thought they would.

The overacheivers

Clermont - to get 5th is really a great effort with the team they had

Brest - 7th very good for a team that has struggled so much in the last few years

Angers - Many said they had no chance, but just as I said they would, a comfortable year.

Boulogne - I think everybody thought they would easily finish rock bottom, but in the end managed to survive. I still think they deserved to go down, but credit to them for staying up.

Th big flops

Amiens - maybe last season was just a freak eh, dunno what happened with them

Reims - I expected so much more from them really. Injuries can be blamed to some extent, but overall a poor year.

Troyes - On paper they had a team that should've easily been promoted. They got into a good position and seriously blew it.

Meatman player of the season:- Guillaume Hoarau

Scored 29 goals, the highest anyone has managed in Ligue 2 since Tony Cascarino (yes you remember him) netted 30 for Marseille in 1996.

He's going to PSG next season - they have bought a fine fine player IMO

Meatman manager of the season:-
Michel De Zakarian (Nantes)

Had BIG BIG pressure on his shoulders at the start of the season, but managed to hold his nerve and get Les Canaris promotion

Meatman team of the season:- Clermont

They were officially the best home team in Ligue 2 and massively overacheived with the squad they had. A really good effort for a promoted club IMO
