Default Italy: Serie A Round 12 (November 13-16)

Juventus -1.5
Juve have been in great recent form as they have won their last 4 Serie A games in a row. A win here will take them equal on top for the time being. They have won their last two games by a 2-0 scoreline as they make moves up the ladder.
Del Piero seems to be in great form lately and he has scored four times in Juve's last three games. Several of their better players will be ready for this fixture as Nedved returns after being, Camoranesi is fit again and Amauri will probably return to the starting line-up.
While Genoa also have some good recent form, they do tend to struggle on the road as they have drawn 2 and lost 3 of their 5 away games, compared to their home form where they have won all 6 games.
In head to head, Juve have won their last 3 games, two of them by 2 goal margin.

Some interesting goals/ half stats
Genoa have scored 5 goals in the first half and 13 in the 2nd

Juve have not scored any goals after the 70th min. Every game Juve played under ref Rocchi they also won.

Master tactician Gian Piero Gasperini (Genoa)

Edit:

I'd actually take Genoa +1.5 Since Juve only beat troubled Roma by more than 1 and they always do well against them too.
Il Grifone only lost by two on day #1. They dont do well on the road and Juve are in top form, but this is a top spot game and those are always difficult.

Well anything over 6,00 for Genoa is pure gift for me. From '93, Genoa didn't won Juventus. True, Juve is in great form, they play fantastic against Real Madrid. But Genoa players shows much talent and it must come a day when they will beat Juve. Indeed, it's much easier to win at home, but I believe today we will see a surprise... If not, well, then all Juve backers will be happy.

i agree, i understand juve being favorite, but im seeing +600 for AW. genoa no slouch and i feel a real contender for top 4, i rate them higher than udinese and lazio, just imo. and with a player like Militio any result is capable

I'm also on Genoa not to lose today. Juve have won their last 7 fixtures in all competitions by a small margin and I'm never 100% confident any team can continue that sort of form for long especially with there only being 1 or two goals in it.

Also, Genoa have recently drawn with both Udinese and Inter away and posess the Serie A top scorer amongst their ranks.

1.53 for the Juve win is based only on name and Genoa at 7.00 is definite value.

You lot would then suggest not getting too far stuck in to Juve? Was going to place a decent sized double on them with India tonight but I'm not liking what I hear (blackcrow aside who is a handicap maniac, (no offence!))

I to agree with other posters on here 5/1 outright on Genoa is generous enough but Genoa + 1 is still a fantastic price. I think Genoa are good enough to get a draw and could possibly win it if they play to thier potential. Alot depends on Diego Milito if he plays well Genoa normally play well.

For me Genoa +1 and Genoa Draw no bet look fantastic prices and I will have a play on this

GL ALL

First initial leans would be

Cagliari +0.25
Inter Milan -0.5
Catania -0.5
Siena -0.5

Not too sure about the Rome derby, if anyone has an O/U on yellow cards, you might want to take a good look at the over on that one, this has been notoriously known as an intense battle with a lot of bickering and hard tackles than most other derbies including the Milan one.

Will be back with the final thoughts, but from the glimpse of things those 4 picks generally will be no less than 1.85, the home teams have been playing superbly infront of the home fans and I expect that to continue.

Pure loose for me on this match... Must say Juve played for a class or two better, just referee seemd to be a little on their side. But afterall, nice and deserved win and a disapoinment from Genoa.

Inter -0.5 @ 1.94 (3 Units)
Fancy this one here. Palermo are in a bit of bad spot right now, seems like they cannot string together positive results. They'll post back to back wins then seem to fall off the face of the earth having only one win in their last 5 outings. Key midfielder Antonio Nocerino is out for this clash due to a suspension he encounter last week. Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini isn't a happy man, he was absolutely furious with the teams display vs Torino stating the team played with "No guts", you'd expect a performance here vs Inter....problem is Inter seems to get the results in the last moment. In their last 3 games, Inter have managed to score in the last 10mins to either win or tie. They have been floating around and this becomes a dangerous spot to go against them. The team has finally got a midfield together now with Vieira and Cambiasso bossing the centre, the key problem for Inter is their defense. They have allowed some horrendous goals and mistakes and that is very uncommon for a Jose Mourinho managed side where defense was the centrefold for the teams all around success. Another player that could possibly miss that clash for Palermo is key forward Fabrizio Miccoli. He suffered a contusion in training on Wednesday and there are huge doubts he can be match fit and even if he is, the risk of playing him might not be worth it in the long run. Inter midfielder Sulley Muntari will finally be fit again but not on the First XI but probably on the bench. The only concern is location of this match. So far road teams in Serie A have struggled. Palermo have generated 4 home wins out of 5 their sole loss coming from a 1-3 hammer by Fiorentina. I believe Inter at this price is worth the play considering they are finally getting back their squad together, they are just treading over hot water in terms of getting decent results. Palermo have been nearly outclassed in their last 5 games, though the 3-0 result vs Chievo doesn't prove too much of a trashing, Chievo dominated for the most part.
I have a feeling someone is going to get a red card here, this is going to get rather fiesty. Palermo has had a player sent off in their last 2 matches and overall in their last 6 matches there has been at least one player from either side to be sent off in 5 of those games.
Whoever wins the midfield battle will get the nod. I don't see either side gaining a 2 goal advantage. The home crowd must play a huge factor here and support their squad even though they have been on a slump. Palermo cannot play any worse than they did vs Torino but they also have a huge mountain to climb to play with the big boys. Inter on the other hand must shrug off some poor performances...knowing Juventus are above them in the standings will help them push harder to get a much more convincing result, what better place to start then in Sicily.
Prediction: Palermo 0-1 Inter

Still a little confused why Siena is at this price. Bologna is absolutely horrendous, they don't know how to score goals let alone shoot on target. Siena still are a quality side especially at home. Will have to check squad updates to see what the whole ordeal is.

Palermo - Inter looks more draw for me than away win. Anyway, will wait till tomorrow and will decide what to do.

I don't think you are the only one that thinks that, but I feel this is the same situation when Inter played Roma. The Romans were in a slight crisis and could finally get out of it playing decent with Inter but then were humiliated. Inter at the time were also wishy washy. Lets face it, Inter have only one loss vs Milan, yes they haven't been winning their games convincingly but the results stand that they only have one defeat. If I were to back Palermo +0.5 I'm not too sure what sort of reason I would give. There aren't enough positives on the Palermo side of things for me to validate my selection so would that mean I would have to look at Inter's faults?

I think Inter has more positives for them at this current situation, not saying for the entire season but from game by game stats they are one of these sides that will muster out a win when you least expect them to.

Roma - Lazio
Sunday, 19:30
Soccer - Ita. Serie A

Pick: Roma Result: Pending
Stake: 10/10 Odds: 2.50
Bookmaker: Betsson SB vCash: No

Roma do not win many derbies and this is as crucial as ever.

Roma have confidence deficiency and are desperate for a win.

I backed them to win last week vs. Bologna and it was not to be, its only a matter of time before they do.

Their lack of confidence was obvious last week but in a derby I believe they'll just want to win, Roma is an excellent team.

You can't but not like Lazio and Delio Rossi this season, they attack with numbers like there's no tomorrow. But Lazio have been left vulnerable at the back and Roma is one team I think can make use of that and get the win they are so desperate for.

Good luck and god bless
