Atalana vs. Bari
Atalanta are, as we all know, 4 points adrift of safety and although for a while I thought they would get out of the battle I am not so sure. I don't doubt that they still can but they need to start moving, quickly. They have acquired the veteran Nicola Amoruso and it is rumored that he will start with Doni behind him. I would not be certain on this as the most promising thing for Ata recently had been Chevanton and Tiribochi.
Bari have replaced their reputation for a rock solid defence with a blistering attack. This has been driven by Barretto who has scored in each of his last 8 games.Atalanta at home is always a tricky fixture and you feel that there is always a shock performance surrounding them but Bari are on good form at present and I will take them at a nice price against a team seemingly in turmoil.

Bari win - 3.6 - 4 points.

I will also back Bari in this one. Atalanta only won 1 out of their last 10 games and the win came against troubled Lazio.

Bari have defeated Palermo, drew with Inter and are in good form. Even though as you mentioned this is a tricky one it is worth a medium stake.

Bari DNB @ 2.37 (4 pts.)

Inter - Cagliari
Inter is in a really good form at the moment. And as their supporter every week I feel that this run will end. I expected it to happen against Parma but the game got postponed.

Cagliari has scored in every of their last 10 games, and against Inter scored in 8 out of 10 games. Also most of the games against Cagliari Inter won by 1 goal and their won most of their recent games also by one goal. So will consider these picks:

Both teams to score @ 2.15 (3 pts.)

Inter to win by 1 goal @ 3.40 (2 pts.)

You are an idiot. I said that I expected it to happen away to Parma, not against Cagliari.

Come on guys no need to insult each other. Aren't there rules to stop this kind of childish behavior in this forum? If you disagree with someone, call them out but do not call them an idiot/fool and then laugh at them that's just pathetic.

Udinese vs. Napoli

I waited until after yesterdays match just to see how Udinese played. They were very much overshadowed by Roma who are a very good team right now. Once again I will say Udinese are too good to be where they are. However the fact is they have not won a league game under their new manager and are in a real scrap.
Napoli are in a very promising position but I do not know if they have the legs to stay with the Champions League contenders. Right now though they are still unbeaten under Mazzarri and seem to be living up to the pre-season hype. They were unfortunate not to take the points against Genoa last time out.
It is unclear who will partner Toto Di Natale up top, which will be dependent on whether they play their usual 4-3-3 or only go with 2 up top. Napoli have been playing Hamsik behind Quagliarella and Denis for a few games now and that will stay the same. Mazzarri has loved playing Pazienza in midfield so that will remain with Maggio, Dossena and probably Gargano.
There is not going to be any dramatic changes in the Napoli side so I am not too worried about who comes out. I am wary of the inevitable improvement of Udinese so I will take some cover. I am pretty confident Napoli will not lose.

Napoli DNB - 2.04 - 6 points

Palermo vs. Parma

The odds for me were right on the point where I was considering not playing the match. However, for some unexplained reason, I have more faith in Palermo than usual. They took a bit of a hammering against Bari but they put in a performance enough for me to not be too bothered. I think that loss will galvanise them more than anything.
Parma have not played since their 3-0 loss to Catania. They were due to play Inter but it was called off which is nothing but a good thing as they would have likely lost that match. It has almost been 2 weeks of resting and preparing for their next match. I would think that is a bit too long to wait only training. Parma's away form is woeful at 2-3-6. Conversely Palermo are one of the better home sides in the league 7-4-0. I always feel better about Palermo when Miccoli is playing and I am going to back them in this match as I think they will fight back immediately following their loss to continue their chase for Champions League football.

Palermo win - 1.83 - 4 points.

Yeah was looking at Palermo myself those as too risky to put in any combo this weekend I think I will stick reasonable stakes on the home win. Good luck mate

several tricky matches in Round 23, and Dave has his predictions up at serieaweekly but I'm going to disagree with him somewhat and be the contrarian as I have my doubts on Sampdoria and Inter claiming all 3 points.

I much prefer to play AC Milan away to Bologna. With Roma pressing to take second place and that automatic Champions League birth, I sense an urgency for Leonardo's men.

Bologna drew at Chievo last weekend which was a rather expected result. And the team have won only 2 of their last 5 at home having struggled against bigger sides all season with only one win against top ten club Palermo back in November. As we all know the southerners have traditionally faired poorly on their travels so I guess I've wasted time even mentioned it.

away win (AC Milan)

The only other match that looks enticing is AS Roma at Fiorentina. The home side is pretty bad right now. Their passing game is quite poor and all of sudden they have started letting in goals in every game. The Viola have actually fallen so far down the table they sit outside the top 10, shocking to be sure.

This one should get physical but also look for Francesco Totti to make an appearance which could make all the difference. (check the line up prior to match time) Last outting Philipe Mexes scored a goal and that aggressive attacking spirit from the back four of Roma I really like to see. Burdisso is suspended for this one but the call will be Roma refusing to lose their incredible run since Ranieri became manager, bringing them up to third place in the league and beyond.

away win Roma

make sure to check out the rest of our picks at serieaweekly

Palermo v Parma - home win

Parma have really drifted and no signs of regaining their momentum back anytime sooner . They have 4 loses and a draw in the last 5 games and the last two loses were on foreign soil with Livorno and 3-0 with Catania... which says a lot about their form and procedure . Palermo will look to wipe out that loss from the last game and repeat the good game that they've played with Fiorentina when winning 3 nil . After they have changed the coach the improvement was clearly visible and now are aiming for the european spots , so i like to believe that we can trust them in this game .

1.80 @coral

Livorno v Juventus - away win

Woow , Juventus have lost 5 out of their last 7 games and won just once... away . They need a grip now and me thinks that Livorno is the best place to get it , after the draw fiasco with Lazio in the past game . Livorno have lost 5 out of their 11 games played at home this season and 3 out of their last 5 games , being beatten on their home soil in the last game there by Napoli with 2-0 . I think this is a must win for Juve - like they've all been , no really now they have the knife stung into the bone and need to react or sink . If they will not be able to defeat even the poor Livorno , than they are trully rubbish . But i have fate....

2.10 @coral

Fiorentina - Roma

Well Fiorentina had a tough couple of games after the winter break. Injuries and bad form on couple of players have them going down in the table (Zanetti, maybe the most important one). Everybody know that this is a very capable team their first team is really good but they dont have the squad to be fighting for 3 titles. With CL coming round the corner Gilardino is ready to find some goals, imo Prandelli should have sacrifised the Coppa Italia and focused on climbing up the table and now his paying for that.
Vargas is getting some games in him, jovetic also, Mutu is now suspended even tho he was in good form I think that it could motivate the team further. They also sold a couple of the old guard and now the yunger players have to step up.
In Roma (my favourite team btw) everything is going the other direction (UP THAT IS).
I never trusted Roma with Spaletti as they were very naive spec in defending. They seem more solid since the tinkerman arrived but I think they are overperforming. little bit lucky against Juve and Siena. Ranieri have been playing with the same team almost every game since the WB and I am amazed by that. Perotti, Taddei , De rossi are hard working players they dont save energy they run like 90 minutes. Pizzaro and Risse have also worked hard and all this players have played almost everygame. Unf. Toni got injured Totti playing on minimum fitness (it seems) and some of this players are feeling soem injuries.
Fiorentina is a team that is up for it in big games spec. at home they managed to give a great performance against a well rested and in form Inter away in midweek. 3 points on sunday is a must or else FIO can forget CL. I think they will show up and win they game with relativ ease with a tired Roma who played a day later then them really not be able to keep up. If this wasnt italy i go -1.5 but I be happy with the -0.5 on Fiorentina with 10000 units . Thats how good I feel on this one. You can go on halftime or -1 if you like but i will go full throttle on the -0.5

My pick Fiorentina -0.5 @2.61 @ [5Dimes]

Other games im thinking about is Parma shocking Palermo for their first home defeat ? i think. Genoa at home . Napoli away and maybe milan will decide and come with previews later...

Can you tell something about Palermo? Parma is quite decent on travel. Palermo is having great home play , the italian version of Real Mallorca.

Atalanta-Bari. I believe we will see strong Atalanta, they have been unlucky to face some form teams lately (Genoa, Sampdoria), but before that they had played well, for example hammered Lazio 3-0 and it was very deserved win. Dani is back. Bari seems to be somekind of on-off-team, it is always risk that they slump after big win, especially in away matches. They must feel good, season has been success and they can play and enjoy. Home odds (under 2.40) are just too short, I think this could be an "over 2.5 goals" (odds 2.20); Bari is not coming to defence. I also think Atalanta -1 goal (odds 5.0), is worth of risk, small bets.
Udinese could be another choice, signs of improvement also, but I have to get more information.

Inter - Caglari

Intresting match here between 2 different team.Home one fight for title and Caglari for a Europeen ticket .Cagliari stay on a good serie in last 10 match with 4 win 4 draw and only 2 loose.Inter is the best home team of serie A with 9 win and 2 draw. For this match Sneider Lucio Eto'o & Chivu are injury or suspended.Inter come back from a serie of 3 match in 9 day vs Milan ,Juve & Fiorentina.Don't think Caglari got arm to make a suprise here but find odd very intresting specially on AH +1 .Caglari not play since last week and Inter after a middleweek match vs Fiorentina and all these player injured could have some problem vs this team today.

Caglari +1 AH @ 2.30 10bet 5/10

Reasoning In last three stages,Fiorentina won only 1 point and now they are on 11th place, with 31 points. This team have objective a place for Champions League,so the hosts certainly will try to win here, especially as we can say this is a derby match. For hosts will miss Mutu and Felipe, while from Roma will not play Toni and Burdisso.I know Roma in last 5 stages won 13 points, but I expect tomorrow night this record to be interrupted,Fiorentina must win all points for to remain with chances for first place in ranking.
