Inter -1 (2.18) @ Pointbet

A big price here on CL qualifiers Inter here agaisnt an ever improving Lazio side, but a Lazio side that has still struggled to get results on the road this season. Inter have been great at home, 13-0-2 for the season, whilst Lazio have just 3 away wins to their name to date. I think this handicap is just to big on the home side, and i definately think this -1 is worth trying. 4/10 stakes here.

Sampdoria -0.25 (1.83) @ Pinnacle

Samp go into this one with 4 defeats in a row to their name the last 3 have all been 1-0, and the last two were to Inter and Juve, so no real suprises there to be perfectly honest. In Palermo's last away day, a 2-0 defeat to Lecce was nothing to shout about. This game is a tight one, but i really feel that Sampdoria are the better side and the more consistent performers of the two (despite the losses in a row). I think this one is good value for us the punter, and 5/10 stakes for a home win.

Default Re: Italy - All leagues (17-20 March)

Serie A Week 30 - 19/3/06 (14.00 UK)
Chievo - Siena
Stadio Bentegodi

This time last season Chievo and Siena were desperately fighting relegation and, while this game may be a little less intense, both sides will be determined to come away from this Stadio Bentegodi clash with maximum points.

Chievo have already achieved their pre-season objective of survival. However, after an unexpectedly fruitful first half of the campaign, the Gialloblu now have a place in next year's UEFA Cup in their sights. Beppe Pillon has had a dream first season in Serie A but expressed his disappointment after last weekend's 2-1 defeat to lowly Empoli. The Flying Donkeys have only been beaten once at home and he will surely see this as an ideal opportunity to end a run of four games without a win.

Siena boss Luigi De Canio will be sleeping easier after Erjon Bogdani's last-gasp header secured a 1-0 win over Treviso last weekend and more or less ensured another season amongst the elite. It has been a season of inconsistency for the Bianconeri but they appear to have accomplished their pre-term objective. Early season goals from Enrico Chiesa - with 137 goals Serie A's top active scorer - and the recent form of Albanian striker Bogdani have been key, but crucially so has a solid record away from home.

Pillon looks likely to call on second choice goalkeeper Lorenzo Squizzi as veteran Alberto Fontana is still suffering from back pain. The Clivensi are still without Federico Cossato, Andrea Zanchetta, Sergio Pellissier and Davide Mandelli. Paolo Sammarco is also sidelined after having a wisdom tooth removed. Nigerian striker Victor Obinna is available again but ex-Siena marksman Simone Tiribocchi may get the nod ahead of him. Fabio Moro returns from suspension.

Siena are still missing ex-Chievo pair Daniele Gastaldello and Nicola Legrottaglie but fellow ex-Veronese Matteo Paro should start. Brazilian Alberto is out for three weeks after limping off against Treviso. Goalkeeper Antonio Mirante remains injured and Daniele Portanova is suspended.

Chievo: Squizzi; Scurto, Moro, D'Anna, Lanna; Semioli, Brighi, Giunti, Franceschini; Amauri, Tiribocchi
Siena: Fortin; Nergro, Colonnese, Tudor, Falsini; D'Aversa, Paro, Vergassola, Locatelli; Chiesa, Bogdani

Default Re: Italy - All leagues (17-20 March)

Serie A Week 30 - 19/3/06 (14.00 UK)
Fiorentina - Ascoli
Stadio Franchi

After last weekend's abandoned match against Cagliari, Fiorentina will be raring to go, but if they want to take the expected three points at the Stadio Artemio Franchi they must see off an Ascoli side on unprecedented form.

The Viola have surpassed all pre-season expectations and sit in fourth with 25 more points than they had at this stage of last season. However, the Gigliati have struggled a little of late and will have to dig deep to hold off Roma to ensure a Champions League place. Cesare Prandelli's men will have taken heart from Roma's shock defeat against Ascoli last weekend but the elements prevented them from cementing the advantage, they need to do that here without Capocannoniere Luca Toni who has a recurring injury.

Marco Giampaolo is a candidate for Coach of the Season. The Piceni were widely tipped to make a swift return to Serie B but after a seven game unbeaten run, including last weekend's magnificent 3-2 win over Roma, they are now close to mathematical safety. Giampaolo - who lists Louis Van Gaal as a great influence - has called on his side to deliver four or five more points, but will not expect them here given that the Bianconeri have only once away from the Stadio Del Duca all season.

Serie A's two most substituted men line up on opposite sides. Fiorentina's Stefano Fiore has been taken off 18 times this season; Ascoli's Pasquale Foggia is hot on his heels with 17.

Prandelli welcomes back Per Kroldrup but is without Toni who now has a problem with his foot as well as his heels. Alessandro Gamberini, Guilherme Do Prado and Riccardo Montolivo are also out.

The visitors make the trip west without Ivano Della Morte, Mirko Cudini, Riccardo Bonetto, Marco Ferrante and ex-Viola Daniele Adani who are injured. Andrea Parola is suspended.

Fiorentina: Lobont; Ujfalusi, Dainelli, Kroldrup, Pasqual; Fiore, Donadel, Brocchi, Jorgensen; Jimenez, Bojinov
Ascoli: Coppola; Comotto, Domizzi, Paci, Del Grosso; Foggia, Cristiano, Parola, Fini; Quagliarella, Bjelanovic

Default Re: Italy - All leagues (17-20 March)

Serie A Week 30 - 19/3/06 (14.00 UK)
Inter - Lazio
Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Roberto Mancini's men progressed in the Champions League in midweek and will look to complete a successful seven days with a win over Lazio at the San Siro, but will face a confident side already exceeding expectations.

While the Champions League is now clearly Inter's priority, the Nerazzurri know that their fans will not settle for finishing behind their city rivals who they trail by two points. However, if the Beneamata are to catch Milan they must win every game from here on and cannot afford to repeat Week 11's 0-0 draw.

Lazio were expected to struggle but are in seventh and jostling for a place in next season's UEFA Cup. The Biancocelesti overhauled Chievo with last weekend's 3-1 win over Reggina and are now breathing down the neck of a struggling Livorno side. Coach Delio Rossi has urged the Lazio faithful to get behind the team after recent games have been overshadowed by fans' protests against widely-despised club President Claudio Lotito.

There are currently seven players who have played for both Inter and Lazio in the two squads, but only Juan Sebastian Veron, Angelo Peruzzi and Goran Pandev look likely to feature. Guiseppe Favalli, Ousmane Dabo and Cesar are injured while Dejan Stankovic is suspended.

Mancini - Lazio Coach between 2002 and 2004 - must decide between Julio Cesar and Francesco Toldo in goal. Javier Zanetti is back from suspension.

The Aquile must manage without talismanic striker Paolo Di Canio who is suspended. Fabio Firmani, Christian Keller and Simone Inzaghi are injured.

Inter: Toldo; J. Zanetti, Cordoba, Samuel, Wome; Figo, Veron, Cambiasso, Kily Gonzalez; Adriano, Recoba
Lazio: Peruzzi; Oddo, Siviglia, Cribari, Zauri; Pandev, Mudingayi, Liverani, Mauri; Tare, Rocchi

Default Re: Italy - All leagues (17-20 March)

Serie A Week 30 - 19/3/06 (14.00 UK)
Lecce - Parma
Stadio Via Del Mare

If Lecce are to have any hope of playing Serie A football next season they must beat Parma at the Via Del Mare, but after Mario Beretta's men beat high-flying Livorno last weekend they will not be favourites to do so.

The 2-1 at the hands of fellow-strugglers Messina may well have put the nails into the Giallorossi coffin. The Salentini came into the game buoyed by Week 28's 2-0 win over Palermo - their first of 2006 - but now face a nine point gap to safety and have a mountain to climb. Roberto Rizzo and Franco Paleari have had no more success than their predecessors Silvio Baldini and the hapless Angelo Gregucci, and know that a miraculous run is needed if they are to avoid the same fate.

Parma could not have hit form at a better time. A 1-0 win over Messina followed by a 2-1 win against Livorno has allowed the Ducali to distance themselves from the trapdoor and to finally show their true ability. However, the Gialloblu are far from out of the woods and must maintain this momentum with a win here if they are to escape the drop again.

The omens look bad for Lecce. In the 17 meetings between the two sides Lecce have only won once while Parma have won nine times. The neutral will hope for a repeat of last season's thrilling 3-3 draw.

The Giallorossi receive a boost with the return of goalkeeper Vincenzo Sicignano while his deputy Francesco Benussi has muscular problems following the Messina match. Tiziano Polenghi and Alfonso Camorani are still out as is striker Giuseppe Cozzolino so Brazilian Rodney Babu', who opened his account for the season last weekend, will start.

Ex-Lecce midfielder Jorge Bolano and Portuguese veteran defender Fernando Couto are suspended. Ferdinand Coly, Marco Delvecchio, Filippo Savi, Domenico Morfeo, Matteo Guardalben and Giuseppe Cardone are all sidelined. Daniele Dessena - fresh from Italy Under-19 training - and Vincenzo Grella return from absence. Goalkeeper Luca Bucci celebrated his 37th birthday in Monday's training session.

Lecce: Sicignano; Camisa, Saidi, Diamoutene, Rullo; Giacomazzi, Ledesma, Delvecchio, Babu'; Vucinic, Pinardi
Parma: Bucci; Ferronetti, Cardone, Cannavaro, Bonera; Grella, Dessena, Simplicio, Marchionni; Bresciano; Corradi

Default Re: Italy - All leagues (17-20 March)

Serie A Week 30 - 18/3/06 (19.30 UK)
Livorno - Juventus
Stadio Picchi

Livorno desperately need to find form if they are to avoid dropping back into mid-table and could hardly have picked a worse time to meet champions elect Juventus at the Stadio Armando Picchi.

The Granata enjoyed a superb first half of the season but lost momentum in January and have struggled even more since Roberto Donadoni's shock departure. Defeats against Cagliari and Parma have allowed Lazio to move within two points and have put the pressure firmly on Carlo Mazzone. The experienced tactician will need all his tactical nouse to earn even a share of the spoils here; Donadoni may still get the last laugh.

Fabio Capello's main task is keeping his side's minds on the job. After last weekend's stalemate with Milan the Scudetto is almost certainly theirs and it will be tough to keep his players' thoughts from the Champions League. However, the Old Lady know that it is far from impossible to lose a 10 point lead and that it would prove catastrophic.

Don't be surprised to see a Juventus spot kick. Livorno have the dubious honour of leading Serie A in penalties conceded with nine - one every four matches.

Mazzone - who felt his side were unlucky against Parma - has a striker crisis. Fourteen-goal forward and local hero Cristiano Lucarelli is hoping for a miracle but a right thigh injury looks almost certain t
