This weekend, I'll be at Newcastle to finally meet the great bunch of people of this forum.

So I'll give you a few early previews that partly may get shorter than used.

The Friday games are looking like pure relegation fight.

Offenbach v Jena

Both teams desperately need a win here which is not the only reason to expect some goals. The Kickers from Offenbach have hit some good form, winning at home to St. Pauli and defeating closely at Mainz. Especially the 4-3 was a furios performances of them, Offenbach yet were down 1-3 before they really turned this game. Scoring has to become more consistent even though that's not the problem in their home games where they play more bravely and scored 10 in last (2 wins, 2 draws), defence can be shaky anyway.

It's getting closer and closer for Jena whereby I give them better chances to make the sensation than Paderbon. Jena were quite down after the recent 2-2 to Wehen where a 2-0 and convincing play wasn't honoured at the very end (striker Allagui used his chance with 1 goal and 1 assist). There should be some confidence left anyway since performances are okay these days despite only 3 points in last 7, Jena surely expect more than a draw in this one. They keep on conceding like used of them, at least they made it to net twice in 3/6 of late.

Offenbach played Overs in 5/8, Jena even in 5/6 recently. Form, current play and the importance of this game let one expect a game rich of goals.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.8 betfair 6/10

Wehen v Kaiserslautern

Wehen sneaked 1 point from Jena as mentioned, things are going their way like they do in whole season yet. The furios promoter is on place 6 in the meanwhile with 4 points to first promotion spot even. The Jena draw stopped their run of 4 consecutive wins, including 2 home wins after problems there in the weeks before. Not much else to say than that Wehen have been pure class in the few last weeks, having netted 12 times in 5 games.

Gap to rescue for Kaiserslautern is 5 points, slowly Lautern must get nervous. They drew last 2 games 0-0 and didn't loose previous 3 away games, still about play and form not too much positive can be said. I had expected a quicker developement under Sasic, yet it can't be said that he's been there for long yet. Offense hardly can produce pressure these days, no surprise so that they didn't score in last 2 and only 22 times so far. It doesn't help that the atatck is weakened by the outs of Jendrisek and Iacob.

K'lautern announced to go for 3 points, yet it is hard to imagine a forcing attack by them currently. Wehen with more confidence and mainly the better play in all parts should help them to nick the win rather than the guests. I don't stake too much though, who knows if Lautern can't improve significantly.

Wehen (-0.25) AH @ 1.97 betdaq 3/10

I don't have a bet in Paderborn v Aachen. Some value on Aachen maybe but after a good start into this year, they disappointed rather recently. They were very defensive at 1860, so I don't really know what they will risk in this one. Paderborn with an okay peformance at Hoffenheim, yet the old problem is the current one also. I'll never understand why they didnn't risk more after being a man more. After all, Paderborn didn't become really dangerous in this game as well.

Sunday

Hoffenheim v Aue

Again I try Hoffenheim (-1.25) AH even though I lost my half of this bet last weekend. The Paderborn game was one of the very rare disappointments, to see this happening once doesn't keep me away from going against another poor traveller. Hoffenheim use to react well if they were not satisfied with their play. The suspension of on fire Obasi isa weakness for sure but a squad like this should be able to handle this. Besides, missing situation of Aue is more threatening for the guests.

Aue were not really pushed by the 6-0 against Paderborn and defeated to M'gladbach and Osnabrück recently. The Gladbach game was one of the rare solid away performances, yet the recent 0-1 home defeat to Osnabrück destroyed all hopes for a consistent improvement. Regarding their away record of around 20 games lost in a row on the road, it is hard to imagine to see them resisting well to Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim (-1.25) AH @ 1.93 betdaq 6/10

1860 v Mainz

1860 were lucky not to loose at St. Pauli as they had 1 single chance and needed some luck and an excellent keeper Tschauner to survive this. It's been the 3rd consecutive 0-0, only the defence performance speaks for them thereby. Defence is solid surely but they won't keep a clean sheet for long anyway, to come to scoring appears less likely however. The returns of Di Salvo and Goktan can help there but they're not expected in the starting line-up yet. 1860 lost last 3 home games without having netted at all.

Mainz didn't easy to break Offenbach but at the end they nicked it 1-0. With the 2 draws at Koblenz and Freiburg recently and the victory at Gladbach, Mainz showed a couple of good away performances what had been a problem in first season half. Offense play could be better given their standards, still it is out of question that the guests are more likely to win this.

Mainz (0) AH @ 1.97 betdaq 5/10

Today i do not really like the matches but if i had to place a bet i would also go for the over in offenbach. From statistics but also from the positons of the teams and the ways they play football a solid bet.

The Wehen match is as so many matches during the last weeks. Wehen in solid or good form against Kaiserslautern with a lot of problems but also pontential to archive a good result. When is overperfroming especially after the winter break. I don´t think that i will bet on the Wehen match but if i had to i would also take the 0,25 handicap and not straight win.

The third match no idea and i do not know what to say. As said i will not bet at all today here.

Fuerth v Koblenz Over 2.5 4/10
My last bet of this weekend, happy to be thru now. Fuerth are quite reliable scorers and thez have the quality to play out an ambitous side like Koblenz. Especially in recent games, Fuerth werer eager scorers, just like Koblenz who found back to cause more danger. Defence is a solid one and I don't know really if Koblenz will play with open face, yet also their counter attacks use to be dangerous.

Have a nice weekend

At HT in Bundesliga 2 it looks Kaiserslautern will go home with 3 points. Wehen have a good squad, they have already been 2 goals down and still managed to take a point, but I doubt it will happen again. Too risky...
In Offenbach a single goal is not very promising for the Over, my hopes are with Jena as they are really a team that could turn games around, just like they did vs the Lautern. Fingers crossed and that as far as I would go.
The one I am go big for though is a draw in Paderborn, at excellent odds and despite the class difference. It happens often in Germany and this game looks promising...
Good luck

Good luck
Nah, what a boring game , must have been 60 fouls in it and no more than 15 mins of good play. My profit from Offenbach fully wasted, but was worth at odds of 4,00 and two teams with no idea...

Some loss yesterday here. It doesn't help that the penalty for 1860 was a gift.

Hoffenheim had problems to break Aue in 1st half. After the 1-0 there were numerous other chances tho.

Today, I take the Over. Going for the preview now.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.99 betfair 5/10

A promtion clash tonight where both teams are quite under pressure. Köln are in rather poor shape but can claim 3rd spot with a win here while Freiburg would do hard to come back with that outcome since they're 3 points down to Köln.

Form of Freiburg is not better, only 1 win in last 10 games costed them contact to promotion spots. Performances have been extremely volatile whereby either defence or attack only could convince. But they've played quite well in their home games, yet without much succes recently of course (strong overall tho with home defeat only and 24 pts). Freiburg rather diappinted at K'lautern in last round (0-0) but didn't deserve to draw to Mainz only in previous hme match (1-1). Overall, team parts didn't gel consistently enough. Hopes are on the excellent offense with Pitroipa who is likely to play and the recent addition from Duisburg, Idrissou. Freiburg's last 10 games contained 4 Over.

As usual, there are rumours around Köln, but more due to coach Daum than the recent mostly not convincing performances of the team. An improvement in 2nd half let them beat Koblenz at least so that their standing is not so bad. Köln tend to do easier and play better on the road this season (due to more space), like in last away game at Fürth (2-2). Overall, Köln didn't get use enough of their quality so that play hasn't always been forcing and straight enough. Last 3 away games were high scoring games each, 5/10 were Over besides.

This game simply contains 2 strong offenses and the way they played at home/away let me believe of 3 goals in this one at least. The constellation around the top should have the consequence of 2 forward playing teams. Freiburg shouldn't miss as much as against Mainz tho, to have come to those speaks for them again on the other hand. Value is on Köln rather but a bet on them may be dangerous.

The Over looks very risky to me in this game. I usually take the Monday game with Over 3, but have a very funny feeling about this one - Freiburg do score vs weak opponents, which is not the case tonight, on the other hand Cologne at some point will certainly try to sort out the leaky defense. Any other team on Monday vs Cologne I would have taken to go Over, the thing is I watched hosts couple of times, and they DO miss a lot. A very reasonable stake to keep me awake on Over 2,5 just following McFly, and a medium stake on Cologne 0 AH looks better atm ????
