last season guys from the german paper SportBild proved to be very successful so here again are the tips for the coming round:

Werder Bremen FC Schalke 04 2 : 0 FT 1 : 0
Borussia Dortmund VfL Wolfsburg 1 : 1 FT 1 :2
SC Freiburg Hansa Rostock 0 : 0 FT 0 : 0
1. FC Kaiserslautern 1. FC Nürnberg 1 : 3 FT 1 : 3
Bayer Leverkusen Hannover 96 0 : 1 FT 2 : 1
Hamburger SV FC Bayern München 1 : 2 FT 0 : 2
Hertha BSC Berlin VfL Bochum 3 : 2 FT 2 : 2
VfB Stuttgart 1. FSV Mainz 05 4 : 1 FT 4 : 2
Arminia Bielefeld Borussia M´gladbach 2 : 0 FT 0 : 0

edit: i'll try correct scores for two remaining fixtures tomorrow , plus as far as i remember they usually had like 6 or 7 out of 9 correct so two home wins look on the cards

Default Bayern

Bayern Munich is my pick for a win this weekend, Felix Magathe has got this bayern side really playing good attacking football since taking charge from Otmar Hitzfield... bayern have also been involved in some really good preaseon games against top quality sides from both within germany and europe.. HSV not a bad side but bayern will beat these about 3-1 with diesler scoring again...

I have to admit i like the look of the champions, at home to Schalke on friday night.

They were a class above last time around, and i've seen prices of around 2.3 floating about, which i find to be very high indeed.

Stuttgart - Mainz
1 @ 1.50 Bets4all.com

Stuttgart have a new coach. Sammer from Dortmund is now the new coach of the young and very good team. I think Mainz as a new team in the Bundeliga will have a extremly hard season and so I think they will have no chance against Stuttgart in the first round. Stuttgart is a young, smart and good-playing team. Mainz have problems with their offense. So I will take Stuttgart for a nice odd.

Default Dortmund - Wolfsburg

Info about Dortmunds Pre-season training

The thunderstorm front from Belgium, which had hit Dortmund a week ago or so, has been pushed away by a high pressure system. Today, in baking temperatures, the team held not one, but two training sessions. But coach Bert van Marwijk also showed some sympathy with his players. Tomorrow they have a day off, giving them time to recover for the league start on Saturday against Wolfsburg.

This way! On Tuesday BVB had two training sessions, on Wednesday the players have a day off.
An off Wednesday - there had never been such a thing under Sammer, Skibbe, Scala Hitzfeld or other BVB coaches. But this "off Wednesday" is part of the Dutch coach´s philosophy. If you don´t have to play a Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday schedule, so van Marwijk, you can give players the chance to recover on Wednesdays from two particularly intensive Tuesday practice sessions. On the agenda on Thursdays - tactical training.

Bert van Marwijk has of course noticed that VfL Wolfsburg´s dress rehearsal for the Bundesliga start, a 3-1 win over Standard Liege, went well. But he´s not yet talked publicly about Saturday´s opponents, instead he directed his intention to his own squad and problems. He complained for example about "the way too short preparation time" for the five players involved in Euro action. "It´s a disadvantage," he said, but one he can´t do anything about. And he generally doesn´t want to dwell on things he can´t influence, like Borussia´s selection problems in the central defence. "We have to do without Germany´s central defenders, Metzelder and Wörns, but I can´t do anything about it either."

Will play in the central defence: André Bergdälmo.
Against VfL Wolfsburg he will likely field André Bergdölmo and Ahmed Madouni, who both played well in the 2-1 win at Arnhem. Particularly since Guy Demel, who suffered a calf injury in last Thursday´s training, is only expected to return to team training on Tuesday afternoon at the earliest. Christian Wörns (Achilles problems) is definitely ruled out for the matches against Wolfsburg and at Mönchengladbach a week later.

But with 10 or 11 international players available, Borussia Dortmund will still be capable of lining up a first class side. And those players have hopefully listened to what their coach has told them. "Football players," the former football player van Marwijk said, "always make mistakes. But they are not allowed to make big mistakes." Particularly not in their own defence. They have until Saturday to work on it. The coach is actually happy about the progress made so far. "They did a pretty good job in Arnhem."

It takes time to chance things, but I know
that in this world you don´t get this time"

[5.08.] The cards are on the table. He said what had to be said. But coach Bert van Marwijk, speaking at today´s press conference, again kept tight lipped about tactical issues. He said nothing, for example, on how to stop the goal hungry Wolves. But he talked about some other interesting things...

Last season BVB had the upper hand over Wolfsburg, winning both matches. Here, Koller equalised to make it 1-1 in the 4-2 win at the VW Arena.
I´m really looking forward to my first Bundesliga match, to the league in general and above all to Borussia Dortmund," the Dutchman said this afternoon at the press conference for Saturday´s match against VfL Wolfsburg. And he´s in an optimistic mood, "I have a lot of confidence in my players´ skills. It takes some time to change things, but I know that in this world you don´t get this time. Football is about results."

Van Marwijk is expecting his team to win the opening Bundesliga match. About Saturday´s opponents, however, he didn´t have much to say. "I´m well informed. We have watched Wolfsburg on three occasions." That was all. "If you talk too much about others, you forget to think about yourself. What matters is that we improve our performances."

On 9 August 2003, BVB won 3-0 at the Westfalen Stadium. Koller again had his name on the scoresheet.
The players involved in Euro 2004 action - Jensen, Kehl, Rosicky and Koller - will start the match, even though they have only returned to team training two weeks ago. Van Marwijk said, "I expect them to play the full 90 minutes. I´ve deliberately let them play the whole last two test matches, because this is the only way to get pros in shape."

When asked about his relationship to Eric Gerets, the quick-witted Dutchman finally broke his silence over Wolfsburg. "We´ve both been through it all." He has had many a battle with the Belgian coach of VfL Wolfsburg, so van Marwijk, the most thrilling one two years ago in the return leg of a Uefa Cup quarter-final. Van Marwijk remembered, "We were 1-0 down to Eindhoven, only equalised in the final seconds, and then won on penalties." Feyenoord saw off Inter Milan in the next round and reached the Uefa Cup final, where, on 8 May 2002, they met Borussia Dortmund...

I will be going for Dortmund a home win not much info but going on the states it a home win for me

I liked the look of Werder to win tonight too - infact have already taken it @2.10

Shalke are a good side but after Intertoto action they have had busy start to season and i think they play again on the 10th.

Werder look like they are set to pick up where they left off last season IMO.

Freiburg took my eye as value - they have not done so bad pre-season and are a good home side generally. I would not consider Hansa strong opposition so @2.05 Home win looks good value.

Default W Bremen

Nothing would sway me from backing Werder tonight - not even Schalke having nicked Ailton and Krstaljic from right under Werder's nose...

Werder have proved(with a couple of pretty decent performances so far including the heroic near-miss comeback against Bayern in the Liga Pokal a couple of days back) they're more than capable of giving any other title contenders a real challenge. In all honesty, they have done pretty well on the transfer front themselves by getting Klose in to replace Ailton - with Klasnic and Klose leading their frontline(and Charisteas on the bench), they should pose more than a decent threat to Schalke, who are not exactly the best travellers and have n't won in Bremen since 1999(losing the last 4 away meetings at Werder Bremen).

10pts on W Bremen to win @ 2.28(Betfair)
5 pts on W Bremen to draw/win for HT/FT @ 6.4(Betfair)

Leverkusen vs Hannover Home win

Question mark arises to Leverkusen which acquired experienced footballers as Junior Voronin etc., but the losses of Lucio, basturk, Neuville is not negligible for the team of Augenthaler. Hannover, it lost the more basic factor of last year, Brdaric, but also other players and it aims in the eve of category.

Default Stuttgart-Mainz

This must be licence to print money, really. Stuttgart kick off their new campaign at home with a nifty price of 1.50(Betfair) to beat Mainz. :b

With no CL qualifier to look forward to in midweek, surely there'd be no distractions for the hosts as they prepare to continue where they left off last season with most of the players wanting to impress their new boss Sammer. It's quite remarkable they have managed to keep the bulk of their key players who finished last term in 4th(no thanks to a late season collapse which saw them plummet from 2nd to 4th and miss out on the lucrative CL) as players like Hildebrand, Hleb, Hinkel, Meira, Lahm, Vranjes, Yakin, Kuranyi, Szabics and Cacau are still around.

Being realistic, Mainz would be looking for a good performance more than anything - and they'd be happy if they could keep the score down.

10pts on Stuttgart to win @ 1.50

Borrusia Mönch has 1 man sent off and Bielefeld is 2.10 to win in live betting.

So, no more dull Under 2.5 matches for Stuttgart then?
Their defence from last season would hardly have allowed 2 goals for Mainz...
