Reims v Caen
Reims have started the season really strongly and at home they are always a very big force. Caen are a good team but this really will be a tough match if Reims play as they have been doing at Le Stade Auguste Delaune. Caen might have other priorities and Reims can take advantage. I’ll happily take the level ball AH here in this match.

Dijon v Brest
These two teams also meet on Friday night in the exact same fixture in ligue 2. I cant see Dijon cocking up on either occasion and they should win tonight. They have gone on good cup runs before and they are the better team,. Brest have been really struggling this season and I cant see their fortunes changing. I bet them on the -0.75 AH here.

Metz have really started the season well with 4 wins and just 1 loss. This wont be a priority competition for them this season, but they will still want to impress their home fans with a convincing win. Creteil have been pretty poor this season so far and have yet to win. I cant see them obtaining anything in this match and Metz could win easily.

Istres v Gueugnon
I’ve no doubt that this will be a tight game and has the potential to end a draw. However, I doubt either team will want extra time so Istres might just have the edge. With home advantage they might just sneak this one to give a confidence boost. Gueugnon haven’t been that convincing yet this season although are unbeaten away so far. Istres -0.25 looks a good bet.

Chateauroux v Strasbourg
The home side are unbeaten this season and its about time I properly took notice of them. They have been scoring goals for fun and confidence is high. This is a tight match that could go either way but I favour Chateauroux to win it. Strasbourg aren’t playing bad at the moment, but maybe they wont be as motivated here. I think Les Berrichone are worth a couple of units on the (0) AH

Bastia v Sete
Bastia are waaaaaaayy better than Sete and they should easily beat them in this match. The only worry is that the match falls between two important ligue games. They lost to Caen 0-2 last week, and this Friday they travel to Metz. Nevertheless, the Corsicans will want a moral boosting win and they should be able to fill their boots against Sete. The visitors haven’t won away from home in any competition for way over a year. Bastia should obtain victory.

Guingamp need to kick start their season with a win and this could be the place to do it, in the ligue cup against Clermont. The team have declared that their objective is to win a match and they have yet to do it in the ligue this season. Clermont have started the season well in the national division but Guingamp might outclass them here. 2 units on the (0) AH.

I'm on Bastia and Chateroux tonight. Both team have good records statistically, even though I dont have that much of a knowledge on French lower league, but worth a nibble for fun . Moreover, meatman write-up had further reinforced my confidence on backing them two Cheers meatman mate

Yeaa good man steve , i have been betting on them all season simply because i believe they have a great team spirit, and all the players play for the team. Great confidence in the camp and they are playing very attacking attractive football, which is why they have conceded a few goals as well as scoring many. I am actually a bit cautious on this one, because i think Strasbourg will come at them after their comfortable 2-0 victory...but again i am picking Chateauroux @ 2.37 3pts

Hi mates,I will take Bastia only for a combo with some CL games because it's the only game with a gap between the two teams,Sete surprised me a bit when they beat Tours but I think it was like they wanted to prove something to their supporters after the bad start in their division and maybe Tours didn't took very seriously the cup.Bastia came from the loss at Caen and from their site it's like they want to get confidence again with a win to be ready for next game in ligue2,they are at home too.So I will be very surprised if they will not win this one with a not so good third division team.
