Looking very closley at Le Harve here at home to Grenoble.

Le Harve are in good form and beat Nantes away from home last week and a price of 5/6 is tempting me.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Certainly is an interesting one and the price on the home win is fairly decent. Le Havre draw far to many home games though for my liking and it always seems to be against the lesser teams. Home draws with Brest, Niort, Amiens and Libourne has certainly shown this and I'm sure it has stung a few French league followers this season. Could it be that Le Havre struggle to get themselves motivated against against poorer opposition or do they just underestimate them. Would be very interested to hear Meatman's view on this.

I like a bet on Guingamp "not to lose". We have around 1.80 for +1/4 in asian market and must say it's nothing special but a correct price for Guingamp. I like their current form, actually if you take last 6 games their performance is similar to (league leader) Le Havre's performance. Tonight their main purpose will be not to lose ground to teams which are behind them in the table, such as Reims, Chateaurox, Niort, Dijon and tonight opponent Amiens.
Amiens got a prestigious win against Ajacco in Cup de France and will have a home advantage in next round against Arles (CFA), but that success will not help them in the league as they stayed third in bottom of the table, have a not good records in recent weeks: 1/2/1 5-5 - in home ground they managed to win only by one goal against Libourne, failed to win against fellow struggle team of Dijon. Other point that they won were in away game against Grenoble and I'm not sure how to count this, as Grenoble are not so convinced in 2008. Despite the qualification in the Cup, change of the coach, they can't prevent the criticism for their poor performance and bad results. This season these teams have met three times: reverse game Guingamp won by 1-0, a week later Guingamp was eliminated in 2nd round of the League Cup and the same have happen In January, when Guingamp was eliminated in 32nd finals of the French Cup.

Guingamp has a full group for tonight game and same apply to Amiens, but I think that there is a lot of a pressure on home team and change of the coach and Cup's games will not help them to concentrate in the league games. So my bet is:

Guingamp @ + 1/4 AH, 1.80 Ladbrokes

GL tonight

I spoke to meatman about this game yesterday and he advised to leave it alone as libourne are better than what the table shows and are capable of getting a result. & at 4/7 its not worth risking Clermont.

Hope that helps

... plus Clermont will miss forward Mendy, who scored 2 goals in the victory over Nantes. I was intent to back Libourne +3/4 2.16, but finally I decide to leave alone this game, because of Clermont's good home records against bottom teams: W 4-1 Reims, W 4-2 Amiens, W 1-0 Niort, W 3-0 Dijon, W 1-0 Brest; also home wins against Agers and Nantes; only Bastia managed to win but it was back in August 2007.

Le Havre are overated and have been lucky with a lot of results, a good attack force but the defence has never looked massively secure to me.

They keep getting wins though, so yeh they would be tempting tonight.

I will stick to what I said 2 weeks ago and that I wont be betting in this ligue anymore this season, I'e just had enough of it.

If I was still betting then Angers, Chateauroux, Bastia and Amiens would all be picks, mostly on a -0.25 AH

Ligue 2 is a horrible place this season, I can't be bothered to waste time for no reward.

Maybe it's to late, but I have one more bet in Ligue 2:
Bastia vs Troyes @ DRAW 2.90 Ladbrokes, 5/10

This month will be very important for Bastia, as they will play against (H) Troyes - 3rd placed, (A) Nantes - 2nd, (H) Libourne - fighting for a salvantion and (A) Grenoble - 6th only 1 point less them. As you can see these are tough opponents and Bastia will test their own ambition for promotion to Ligue 1. They have a good form in resent weeks and a win against Auxerre in Cup, prove that they have an abilities to contend for the promotion with any team in Ligue 2. Troyes has super records in January, as they won all 4 games, in contrary to their bad end of 2007 - one win in last 6 games. Tonight game will be like a final for them - if they win or hold Bastia, it's would give them a good advantage to the end of the season. I think that a draw will useful for both of these teams and we have a good chance to have a winner in betting on draw.

Bad results for me in tonight games. I still haven't read reports from the games to decide how bad were my picks , but the true is that we do better when Meatman is here to guide us to success in betting in Ligue 2.

Meatman, you have a good estimation for tonight games, as all of your suggestions won.

Cheers mate

Well that do I do now?

Along with those 4 games, except for Le Havre (who I might've been sucked in with) then I'd either have bet the right outcome or not bet at all.

Suddenly the ligue gets its home wins and predictability back

It would've been one of my best nights of the season, Oh why why why did I quit betting here, I shouldv'e stuck faithful with myself

I really havn't got a clue here to be honest, just a typical awful Monday night game

Honestly, no result would surprise me and I find it impossible to predict.

Statistical value is on Brest, but it doesn't mean they will win or draw......

Brest:

1 ELANA Steeve
2 BOURGIS Yvan
13 GAUVIN Anthony
24 KANTARI Ahmed
4 GUEGAN Olivier (c)
10 MASSON François
21 FERRADJ Brahim
23 BIGNE Yoann
9 DE CARVALHO Basile
15 SOCRIER Richard
20 POYET Romain

Nantes:
1 HEURTEBIS Tony
6 MOULLEC Guillaume
4 DAS NEVES Kévin
24 GUILLON Loïc
15 MAREVAL Rémi
8 DA ROCHA Frédéric(c)
18 DE FREITAS David
23 FATY Ricardo
11 CAPOUE Aurélien
19 BABOVIC Stefan
10 BAGAYOKO Mamadou

I must mention a debut for Brest will make Romian Poyet.

Both of these sides will want to end their loosing streak. What will make this game verry important for Nantes, is the fact that they will meet Bastia next round and they will don't want to give any hope for them by loosing tonight game. I expect both of them to take their chances in tonight game, but I rate Nantes as much more valuable squad in the long run and that make me to put a low stake in Correct Score market:

Nantes @ 2-1 9.00 Ladbrokes, 1/10

I forgot to notice that Brest will be without an important defender for tonight game: Denis Stina - 0/20 goals/appointments.
