Metz vs Tours

Metz is one of the favorites to win promotion this year
and if they want to go up they need to win games especially at home. Tours is relegation candidates and this is a real chanse for Metz to start winning home matches. They won against Guingamp away but coach Pauliquen was not satisfied with performance of his team. Tours are team with no tradition and experience, so I belive in home win here. Away team will try to defend but I don`t think they will get anything from this game.

Head to head:

2006/2007 FRA 2 Metz - Tours 2:1

Metz -1 AH @ 2.19 10bet 8/10

A slightly early bet for me here simply because I can't see the generous odds lasting long. Metz didn’t play that well last week but it was never going to be easy away against Guingamp and they defended strongly. This should be a more comfortable encounter at home facing a poor looking Tours side. The visitors surprised last week by beating Sedan and producing a good performance. But Sedan don’t look to be anything special and this will be a completely different test. The last time that Tours were in ligue 2 they were absolutely hopeless away from home and I’d be surprised if they managed to get anything out of this match. Odds of 2.19 on the -1 AH are ridiculously high and I can see Metz winning very comfortably. I’m very confident here and I’ll stake 8/10, the only reason I don’t go the maximum 10/10 is because its only the 2nd week of the season.

First Glance I'm liking the look of Brest

And will probably be taking Chateauroux again.

Angers +0.5 AH @ 2.01 188bet 4/10

Bastia were the major surprise last Friday when they beat Troyes 2-1 away from home. They key was how good they looked in attack, and the duo of Cherrad and Ganest worked very well together. However, defensively there are still a lot of question marks about Les Bleus and I don’t think they can be relied upon to keep clean sheets. Angers won last week and they are a team whom I rate fairly highly. Last year they came here and won 1-0 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them do that again. Bastia always seem to fail whenever there is some expectation on their shoulders and suddenly fans will be anticipating a victory tonight. I still feel that the Corsicans are overrated and bookies have them far too short tonight. Confidence will be high in their camp but they would be foolish to underestimate Angers. I think the visitors can at least avoid defeat, so I’ll have some of this +0.5 @ decent odds.

Brest straight win @ 2.20 Betdirect 5/10

I think Brest’s 1-0 success at Nimes last week might prove to be a very precious win obtained at a difficult stadium. Brest were pushed hard by their opponents but fought hard and managed to hold onto their victory. Now they have a platform on which to build upon and they’ll look to make it 2 consecutive wins this Friday. I feel that the Bretons will be too strong for Clermont who didn’t really impress much last week. It took them nearly 80 minutes to properly wake up against Vannes, but for most of the match they were flat and pretty much deserved to lose 0-1. At home Brest have always been traditionally strong and play some good football. There are plenty of ambitions in this squad and the players will certainly be targeting maximum points. Clermont need to really improve, something which I’m not sure they can do in a hurry. Odds of 2.20 look to be very generous and id rather take this price than the poor one offered on the -0.25 AH.

Reims -0.25 AH @ 2.04 188bet 5/10

Both of these teams lost last week, but both will argue that they deserved something out of their respective games. For Reims, losing away from home was nothing new and over the last few years they have regularly struggled on their travels. Instead they rely upon their home form and will be much more confident in front of their own fans. For this match they welcome back the defensive trio of Giraudon, Truchet and Liron. New striker Stephane Samson also looks set to make his debut tonight. Keeper Johann Liebus is injured which is a bit of a blow, but reserve custodian, Perica Radic will be eager to impress against his old club. Ajaccio were unlucky last week and shouldn’t have lost to Chateauroux, but they failed to take their chances. This will be a tough away match and I think Reims will be too strong for them. Bookies are generous on this -0.25 AH line and I’d be surprised if the hosts lost.

Montpellier -0.5 AH @ 2.02 Bet365 4/10

MHSC were perhaps a little unlucky to lose at Strasbourg on Monday night and didn’t play too badly. It was a solid performance and they can take plenty of positives into this Friday night. At home I expect the south coast club to be very formidable this season, just like they were last campaign. Courbis’ men played some nice football and often dominated possession. Their only problem was scoring enough goals, but it wasn’t for lack of chances. Amiens should’ve won last week facing Boulogne and it was definitely 2 points dropped. This match will be much more difficult and it’ll be hard for them to go back home with anything. Both of these sides have decent defences and I don’t think many goals will be scored. But Montpellier have home advantage and this is something which cant be underestimated. The visitors miss key left back Aurelian Bosche to suspension and this might prove to be crucial. I think odds of 2.02 on MHSC are pretty fair and I believe they will win something like 1-0 or 2-0.

Nimes +0.75 AH @ 2.07 188bet 3/10

This bet is a bit of a gamble but I think Nimes are underestimated here. They lost last week at home to Brest but put up a pretty decent fight against a team who I think will be right up there in the promotion battle this season. It might just have been the home factor and that they were given extra energy by their own crowd, but I was fairly impressed. Sedan meanwhile ought to be ashamed of themselves to have lost to shitty Tours. It was a really flat display and they can have no complaints about leaving with 0 points. This summer Sedan have really struggled in friendlies as well, and its cleanly going to take quite a lot of time for this new set of players to settle down properly. There’s no way that they should be so short tonight and I think the visitors are capable of getting at least a point. As I said, it’s a bit of a gamble because Nimes might prove to be useless away from home, but then again I’ve always been a bit of a gambler……..

Troyes 0 AH @ 1.98 Pinnacle 3/10

This is another gamble really because if Troyes play like they did last week then there is a major danger that they’ll lose again. Nevertheless I will give them another chance to show what I know they are capable of becoming - promotion challengers. The simple fact is that they should be too good for Chateauroux if they play anywhere near their potential. Troyes welcome back Jerome Lafourcade to their attack force this week and he might provide the extra impetus they need. Ludovic Batelli will surely rally his troops ahead of the game and demand an improvement on last week. Chateauroux I really don’t rate much as a team and they were exceptionally lucky last week to beat Ajaccio. Only a fine goalkeeping performance from Vincent Fernandez enabled them to hold onto their slender lead. Striker, Mathieu Scarpelli is a quality player and must be watched by Troyes, but as long as they can handle him then I really don’t know where the threat can come from. Le Stade Gaston Peitt has never been much of a fortress and Troyes really should be good enough to get at least a draw. This bet is a bit of a gamble, but I will continue to have faith in ESTAC.

And now a word about the other 2 games which I wont bet in

Boulogne v Guingamp - hhhhmmmm If I had to stick my neck out I'd say Boulogne win or draw, but they really are a poor team. Guingamp welcome back key striker Eduardo tonight and that might prove to be crucial. Bookies have the odds set about right here and it's capable of going either way.

Dijon v Strasbourg - I don't think Dijon will lose, but I just haven't got the bollocks to bet on them here. Strasbourg played alright on Monday night and on paper have more quality than their opponents. But 2 years ago they really struggled away from home and didn’t win that many road games. A draw wouldn't surprise me here.

Good luck everyone tonight!

It looks like Bastia will be a favourite topic today, just noticed with my local odds for home win jumping from 1,80 to 2,05. I am still going to trust them and have a medium bet on HW, winning at Troyes could have been luck or shit hosts, but it was impressive. Will also follow Meatman on Mets, often obvious bets like this in France 2 do not work, but it looks promising. Still considering Reims.
A double with small stake at 2,60 on ''both teams to score'' in Reims and Chateauroux, NOT MUCH REASONING HERE, pls see Meatman's above.
Good luck

I found out that Strasbourg lost 12 players, mostly of them are important. So, I'll play Dijon win.
Here is the web-page where I took this info.

Bastia v Angers SCO

Both teams start season in best way they have wanted.Bastia in first game won Troyes away 1-2. In other side Angers in first game won home Reims 3-1,and show grate game where they dominated all the time.Bastia last year made big mistakes in home games they were beter in away games and at home they many times know to do mistakes like they did with Angers last year whenre they lost home 0-1 and draw away 1-1.This year i dont think that they will repete their mistake of last year.I think they wilol play more carefully and more concentrated home and make results home and away.I see another win of Bastia in this game.

I just checked this price mate, it's actually european handicap (EH)

Metz have to win by at least 2 for that bet to win, if they only win by 1 you wouldn't get a refund like AH.

Still they will hopefully piss it
